The big change happened about a week and half ago. Vespar was leaving a meeting after cutting a major deal on her new product. On the way home she was crashed into by a semi-truck. Her newly acquired electric sports car spins off the highway diving into the rushing river. She died upon impact; and when she opened her eyes she immediately blinded by different color streams of light. Vesper also felt her body had become lighter, not only that but she was floating. She began to wonder where it was and who bought her here? " Hello, is anyone else here?" her voice echoed into the void of colors.
As she looked around a calm, mesmerizing voice response "I am here". The lights pull apart like satin curtains; she fixes her eyes towards the opening. Soon after, a figure appeared approaching her. The figure was a tall and slender being who was draped in shiny, silk fabrics upon their body. Her gaze moved up toward the face of whom she wishes to know. The silk continued to flow across the being head. The being appeared to be a beautiful mystic being. As Vesper looked up, the beings face their eyes instantly. The being eyes stared into Vespars' own eyes as though she was searching her soul. She then reached out her hand,"Greeting Vespar, I am Aily an Entity who guides spirits." The words flowed from her mouth like a soft stream of rain.
Although Vesper was trained to keep a poker at all times she couldn't help but to show a puzzled face. Aily proceeded to grab Vespar's hand and continued " I know you may be a bit confused, so I'll help you clarify the unknown." They were still gliding across the colorful clouds. "Vespar you have passed on, or to put it bluntly... You died!" Vespar turned her head slightly to the right of the entity and said to herself 'No Shit!'. The entity Aily quickly responded to the comment. " I am glad that you're taking this better than most souls!" she let out a light giggle. Vespar turned and looked at the entity with a shocked tone " You can read my mind!" A small smirk appeared on the face of the entity. "Well yes silly. You are dead; which means you're an open book to me. To say the least, I know everything there is to know about you Vex!"
They came to a halt in front of them were bushels of light-colored clouds. The entity raised her hand toward the clouds and with a flick of her fingers the clouds disappeared. Before Vespars' eyes she saw an empty black space. "Are we in space?", as she spoke she slowly went behind the entity. Aily turned and grabbed Vesper and replaced her back by her side. She placed her hand on Vespar's back for reassurance. "Oh no, we're somewhere outside of space and of the Universe." in her calm and mesmerizing voice. "I would like you to see something" with a wave of her hand, they were pulled through space and suddenly her hand stopped at a planet. Holding her stomach and bending over Vespar blurted out "A bit of a warning would have been nice!" The entity removed her hand from Vesper's back. She then began to rub the top edge of her head. " Oh it slipped my mind that new souls can get a bit quisy?" Vesper let out a small sigh and said " Thanks for the warning!"
Aily waited a few seconds, she then tilted her head toward Vesper and asked. " If you are feeling better now; if can you look over there please?" Vespar rolled her eyes and straightened herself up as she looked out at the opening. "Is that... Earth?" Aily replied, "Not quite, though it does share little similarities. This is planet Xarth!"
Vespar raised her left eyebrow slightly. "Xarth? Pretty original name." She glanced at the planet again, 'could this be a trick?'. The planet showed no major differences at first sight. Aily placed her arm around Vespar' s shoulders and let out a light giggle. "This is no trick, though this planet may appear to resemble your home planet. Planet Xarth on scale is fifty times larger than Earth, and is a bit more complex." Entity Aily then turned to the right and guided Vespar along with her. " I would like you to meet someone."
After a few seconds they were a few feet away from this person. Aily gave Vespar a slight push forward. To where she was soon face to face with the person. She began to study this person's features, within a few glances she began to feel a bit irritated. With a sarcastic tone of voice she said "is this my body-double?" She started to walk around the similar looking female. " I have got to say, you've gotten mostly right; 5 '7 and a half, dark-honey skin tome complexion, beauty mark on the left ear, and the button nose..." She stopped talking, crossing her arms loosely and stepping back. She continued "except for the purple-blue and black mid-back length curly hair and the frail body frame. If she is not me then who is she?"
The entity let out a small sigh, "Yes but no, she comes from planet Xarth. Her name is also Vespar, but she is an heiress of an ancient noble family bloodline." She walked over to Vespar and reached for both of her hands. While holding her hands a gentle and enduring smile showed upon the entity's face. "Your soul will be transferred into this body." she started in a calm and reassuring voice. Vesper slightly squinted her eyes, " Are you..." scoff "... serious?" She couldn't believe what she was hearing and she wasn't pleased. But the entity remained unchanged " Yes, you will be taking over her life now!"
Vesper slowly removed her hands from the grasp of Ailys' hands. In her cool, raspy voice she replied looking into Ailys' eyes. " Why did you choose me? Mmh, and if I were to reject whatever this is?" Aily looked past Vespar, and in a quieter tone like soft wind cutting through fallen leaves she stated. " You will become an insect for 500 lifetimes doomed to a tragic life and death every time." The words sunk into Vespars' chest like rocks in the deep river. Silly eyes shifted toward the other Vespar and glided toward her as she continued. "Though you did have a successful life by others measure. It was an unfulfilled one! You, Vespar, had no real attachment to your past life! And she was the same, you both had unfulfilled lives!"
The entity came back towards Vesper , and stood directly in front of her. She lowered her head to look into Vespers' hazel colored eyes, and she reached out her hand saying. "Are you ready to start your new life?" Vespar slowly uncrossed her arms and extended her right hand to meet the entity hand. But she stopped as her hand was hovering over Ailys' hand. "Yeah, but..." Before she could finish her thought she was grabbed and pulled into the open space toward planet Xarth; and she was knocked unconscious by the rushing speed.
When Vesper finally opens her eyes her body instantly becomes weak, and riddled with pain all over. She couldn't help but to shed a couple tears, which she hadn't done in years. She had learned from a young age that tears just bring more pain and don't help resolve anything. Lifting her eyes looks around; she shortly notices that her vision is a bit blurry. Though right in front of her was the Entity Aily shining brightly, with her legs crossed, and eyes closed in a resting position. Vesper tried pushing her body up from the muddy ground but she fell back. Her body slowly fell into a withered old tree a few steps behind her. Then she placed her right hand on her throbbing head and left hand on her griping stomach.
After she took a couple of breaths to stabilize herself she asked the entity weakly and slowly " Where am I? And why do I feel like total shit?". Aily with her eyes still shut close she replied "You are in the young Vesper body, approximately around age 9". She then opened her eyes slightly to look at Vesper's reaction. Vesper didn't move for a second, but she started to look for something to see herself. Next to her feet was a plate-sized clear puddle, and she looked down into it. Once she got close enough to see her own reflection she was shocked and became increasingly irritated. "You have got to be fuckin' with me right?" she said while taking a breath of air with every few words. "No, I thought it would be better for you to come into this world at a younger age. So you can be more adjusted and connected to this world." Aily said calmly with a hint of joy.
Vesper wanted to scream at the top of her lungs but the pain reminded her to relax. So she took a shallow breath and exhaled "That would honestly be the least of my issues as of right now!", she responded slowly. The Entity started blankly at Vesper, "What are the issues you speak of?". "Well if anything this body for 1. is neglected, 2. badly malnourished, and 3. It's … a boy!"
