Chapter 2 - Chapter One

Third Person P.O.V

The wind whipped her long, dark hair, entangling it around her pale neck. Standing at the edge of the cliff, halfway up the mountain, she watched over Aevum, the city where she grew up. Lanterns began to appear as darkness engulfed the city. It is the end of spring, gone the warn air, replaced with a gust cold wind. Thanks to her thick clothes, made from a bear fur, which she had hunted and managed to extract the finest fur every noble could wish for, with it she was kept warm through the cold wind.

As she sat on the cold ground, facing the city. She let her mind wonder. It was one of the few things she did before mediating. If her mind wasn't clear of the senseless thoughts, she would not be able to achieve the peacefulness she wants. Solace took in a deep breath before letting nature reel in her. As usually, it took Solace a little while before she was able to hear the things close to her; the spring, birds chirping, the rustling around the trees, and various noises that the animals make. Solace further extended and opened her mind to be here much further.

She expected nature is all she can hear, yet she's wrong. Dozens of heavy marching steps heaves her both ears, horses snorting in the distance and metal clanking. The dried leaves crunches before them and animals who was wondering around choses to run off and hide from the lush bush around them.

When she opens her eyes, she's meet by two figures who stands right beside her. Both holding their own sword that keeps them in full alert as the woman who's right beside them isn't one of those who's inside the palace walls. They stood firmly, unmoving, waiting for her to take the queue. With deep sigh from her dried lips, she stands up and looks for her sword. It was her parent's gift for her, as what the letter said when she found the sword inside her little house that is situated in the middle of the forest yet was near beside a fresh river bank.

"Aziel." She spoke as she reached the man that only nods at her in hidden fear, as her voice was laced with calmness and velvety lush whispers of a seductress but was also laced with authority, and coldness. Yet deep inside her, she has question why, the royal army of Aevum has come for her, when the land and kingdoms are all in pure peace.

As far as Solace can hear and sight, that the Kingdoms are all in peace treaty. Royals from different kingdom seek for her help as she is a prodigy, a great help to everyone, yet even though every Kingdoms wants her for their own power's sake. No one has ever made a claim to her as one of them. Solace was just merely a pawn for their victory. And she knew it well, she never dared to question why because she already has a home outside Aevum Empire, where she was found, and where she was raised and trained.

By the law decree in every kingdom, every young lady must learn the etiquette of being a proper lady. How to walk, laugh, dance, talk and everything that would make them available for market marriage when they've already reached the coming-of-age, which is age eighteen. Yet she was raised different, instead of silver cutlery, it was a wooden sword instead. Instead of learning how to dance like a fine lady, she was taught how to fight in sword and throwing punches to defend her own self.

Instead of embroidery, she learned archery, wise strategies in the battlefield and even thinking how to deceive one man. Solace has master it all, no wonder why she was the talked of the town when she shines in a sword fight between her, a frail young lady and a matured and trained knight inside the village town-square.

It gained her attention and name but not everyone in the Kingdom holds a liking towards her, as both man and woman held grudge, envy and jealousy to her. For she's been more favourable by the royals, in terms of battles inside the battlefield. Men were neglect and was looked down. Envy and jealousy for women for her appearance as the other royals have their sights for her. That made women from their kingdom and other kingdom despise her even more.

Quietly sheathing her sharpen sword, which shines for a second when the light hit the metal blade. Gathering her things, Solace waited for his reply,

"The King and Queen of Aevum Empire, wishes to speak to you tonight. Your presence is highly anticipated in the palace and by all means the King and Queen won't be pleased if you don't follow their wish. Furthermore, we are ordered to escort you back to your dwelling and back to the castle." Aziel-The Commandant of the army of Aevum Empire informed her.

Solace furrowed for what she heard. The King and Queen weren't like these before if they wish to see them, they will just send one man to inform her, and she'll be going to the castle on her own.
