Chapter 2 - Removing the Chakra Limitation

Iruka said awkwardly to Yoru, "Yoru, don't take it to heart. Naruto just has a bad memory."

Even as he said it, Iruka felt how flimsy the excuse sounded. No matter how bad someone's memory was, they wouldn't forget a classmate they'd studied with for six years.

To Iruka's surprise, Yoru didn't get angry.

Smiling faintly, he said, "It's fine. I'm just not very good at socializing."

"Don't say that. It's just that Naruto's memory is terrible," Iruka insisted seriously.

Only then did Naruto really notice Yoru.

"Iruka-sensei, did Yoru pass the graduation exam?"

Iruka turned his head, forcing a smile. "Of course he did. He's the only one in our class who didn't fail. What have you even been doing all these years?"

Naruto scratched the back of his head awkwardly. "Iruka-sensei, I'm just bad at the Clone Jutsu. My Sexy Jutsu is really good though!"

The moment he mentioned the Sexy Jutsu, Iruka's face flushed red with anger. "Don't bring up that kind of obscene ninjutsu!"

Naruto shrank back and muttered under his breath, "But you got a nosebleed when you saw it…"

"Shut up. Don't say another word…"

Exposed on the spot, Iruka's face turned bright red with embarrassment.

Yoru paid them no mind.

Smiling, he said to Teuchi, "Uncle, one bowl of tonkotsu ramen."

Teuchi worked the noodles as he laughed. "Yoru passed the Ninja Academy exam. You're officially a ninja now."

"Today I'll add two extra eggs for you."

Teuchi had always been on good terms with Yoru.

"Thank you, Uncle," Yoru replied with a smile.

At that moment, Ayame placed a bowl topped with beef in front of him and beamed. "Yoru-kun, your big sister is happy for you too."

Yoru was good-looking, came to Ichiraku Ramen often, and was always polite. Ayame had a very good impression of him.

By the time Iruka finished talking with Naruto, Yoru was almost done eating.

Because Iruka and Naruto were there, Yoru ate faster than usual.

After finishing, he stood up. "Iruka-sensei, Naruto, enjoy your meal. I'll be going."

Iruka was momentarily stunned.

He hadn't expected Yoru to finish so quickly.

Glancing at Naruto, he seemed to understand something.

But he didn't blame Yoru. After all, Yoru's parents had died during the Nine-Tails' attack.

It was only natural that he wouldn't like Naruto.

Naruto, completely unaware, laughed heartily and waved goodbye.

"See you, Yoru! Let's hang out sometime!"

Yoru gave a faint smile, said nothing, and left.

Polite—yet distant.

Naruto couldn't tell the difference, but Iruka could.

"He's already much better than the others. At least there's no obvious hatred for Naruto in his eyes."

What Iruka didn't know was that Yoru kept his distance from Naruto simply because he didn't want trouble.

Yoru returned home.

He lay on his bed, closed his eyes, and wondered when the reward would arrive.

Was the AFK System even real?

He waited until past midnight.

Just as he was about to fall asleep, a voice suddenly echoed in his mind.

"You have been AFK for one day. Congratulations, you have removed your chakra limitation."

Yoru frowned. He didn't yet understand what the reward meant.

Suddenly, a faint blue glow began to emerge from his body.

Yoru had long since learned how to extract chakra. He knew the blue light was chakra.

But he was shocked—because the density was far too high.

It had actually manifested visibly.

"So dense… This amount of chakra is at least a hundred times what I had before."

"This is my reward?"

In the next instant, the chakra surged wildly into his body.

A wave of comfort flooded through him. It felt indescribably good—so good that Yoru nearly cried out.

If he hadn't bitten down on his blanket, his neighbors might have misunderstood what he was doing in the middle of the night.

After a long while, he finally absorbed it all.

"This is incredible. I can actually absorb chakra from the outside world."

A ninja's chakra was normally extracted from their own cells.

That was how Yoru had always done it.

He used to worry that extracting chakra would weaken his body.

In truth, he had overthought it.

This world wasn't the one he had known before. Many rules from his old world simply didn't apply here.

In this world, extracting chakra didn't harm the body—unless it was excessively drained.

However, the amount of chakra one could extract from within was heavily limited by physical constitution.

Simply put, those born into ninja clans usually possessed far superior physiques—and far greater chakra reserves—than ordinary ninja.

Yoru's chakra had always been average.

His parents were both civilian ninja.

Previously, his chakra reserves couldn't even compare to Sasuke's.

The gap was around tenfold.

Compared to Naruto, the difference was tens of thousands of times greater—and that wasn't even counting the Nine-Tails' chakra.

Just considering Naruto's Uzumaki bloodline alone.

And as Naruto grew older, his chakra would only increase further. The gap between them would continue to widen.

In this world, bloodline mattered immensely.

Without one, at best you could only become someone like Might Guy—a brilliant but fleeting existence.

Now, Yoru felt that his chakra reserves were a hundred times greater than before.

Roughly at the level of a jonin.

And he could draw chakra directly from the outside world.

That meant he could replenish chakra anytime, anywhere.

Something many ninja simply couldn't do.

The energy of nature far exceeded the chakra within his own body.

Right now, he could feel external energy flowing continuously into him.

The quality was extremely high.

What Yoru didn't realize was that what he was absorbing wasn't ordinary chakra—it was natural energy.

Naturally, its quality far surpassed normal chakra.

Natural energy could be used for combat.

It could also nourish the body.

Yoru's body wasn't particularly outstanding.

It was precisely his physical condition that had previously limited how much chakra he could hold.

If he had Naruto's physique, his current chakra reserves would surpass Naruto's by more than a hundred times.

At this moment, Yoru only felt comfortable.

More comfortable than soaking in a hot bath.

"This system is incredible. On the very first day, it gave me such a huge surprise."

"Too bad I only know the Three Basic Jutsu right now. I don't know any other ninjutsu."

His parents hadn't left behind any scrolls.

They hadn't been high-ranking ninja—both were ordinary chunin.

"Slowly. Maybe the AFK System will provide more in the future."

"Even increasing my chakra by a hundred times is already amazing."

"My chakra now far exceeds Sasuke's."

Sasuke's chakra reserves were already quite high—much greater than ordinary students.

But compared to Naruto, they were still lacking.

Then again, compared to Naruto, everyone lacked chakra.

The Uchiha Clan was known for possessing strong chakra reserves.

But compared to the Uzumaki and Senju clans, they still fell slightly short.

After all, without sufficient chakra, it would be difficult to even sustain the Sharingan—

Let alone drive the Mangekyō Sharingan.
