Beyond The Veil

The story follows our main character Kairo Azren,

Kairo Azren lives alone. He is 17 years old and lives in a small apartment. He is famous for being the number one strongest player in a very realistic virtual reality game called Beyond the Veil. It is the year 2057.

He has a special class called Blade King.

The abilities that come with this class are all Passive,

Blade Mastery

Every sword movement he performs is automatically analyzed and optimized by his body. Each attack becomes slightly faster, smoother, and more efficient. The improvement per strike is very small, but it has no limit. Over time, his swordsmanship continues to evolve, reducing stamina usage and eliminating unnecessary motion.

Adaptive Combat

His reaction speed and timing gradually adjust to his opponent's fighting style during battle. The longer a fight lasts, the easier it becomes for him to read enemy movements, predict attacks, and respond with precise counters. This effect resets when the battle ends.

Edge Retention

His focus sharpens as combat continues. For every consecutive successful attack without taking damage, his attack precision and damage increase slightly. The bonus is small and builds slowly, but it can reach significant levels in prolonged fights. The effect resets if he is hit or disengages from combat.

The Active skills he has are,

Flash Step

an ability that lets him move at the speed of sound for five minutes, with a 10-minute cooldown.

Detection

an average ability that everyone gets for free when they enter the game. It lets you detect your surroundings, but the higher your level, the farther you can detect.

Moon Slash

a technique he learned, and only he has, by training on the 80th floor for seven days in virtual reality without logging off.

In the game Beyond the Veil, you can make your armor invisible, and he always keeps his armor invisibility on.

He uses a long katana as his main weapon, which he obtained on the 90th floor by defeating the boss monster, The Giant Six-Headed Ox.

The game Beyond the Veil appeared out of nowhere one day. The company behind it is unknown, and it came with a virtual reality set that is far too futuristic for its time. It lets you feel every sensation — pain, pleasure, and more.

Once you reach the 10th floor, you can choose one of two paths:

You can join a party and become stronger only by working with a team. If you farm alone, you will not gain any experience points.

Or you can choose to go solo. If you do, you can farm alone, but you will only be able to clear the next floors by yourself. You cannot ask other players for help, which is why most people do not choose the solo path.

Whenever players do go solo, if they are lucky, they die by the 19th floor.

No one has ever passed the 19th floor as a solo player except the main character, who is now on the top floor, while everyone else is barely halfway through the game.

Our main character, Kairo Azren, grew up in an adoption center. He was bullied for having white hair. In middle school, he was bullied constantly. Even though the girls liked him because he was handsome, the boys hated him out of pure jealousy. They believed he dyed his hair white on purpose to get attention from girls., While he was born with it.

Despite being handsome and very smart in school, he did not like going to school or going outside because he knew people only wanted to use him for his looks or his grades.

After he turned 17 and graduated from high school, he stopped going outside and only left his apartment when it was absolutely necessary.

And despite being extremely rich in the game, he rarely converts his in-game money into real-world currency unless it is an emergency or needed for essentials like food. He always orders takeout.

Despite being a shut-in, he is quite muscular, as he works out regularly at home.

Throughout his life, he has always felt like something was missing. The only time he truly feels at ease is while playing the game. To him, the game is his real life.

He uses the game to escape reality.

In the real world, he feels out of place.
