Geto Suguru is important, if not the most important part of Kanjaku's plan. And Kanjaku's plan is as simple as it gets to bring the zenith of the Jujutsu era to the current generation.
And in the current time, all of it was going exactly as it should be, from how Toji killed the Star Plasma Vessel to Gojo Satoru's awakening as the strongest to Suguru Geto and Gojo Satoru splitting into polar opposites and all other undercurrents that are occurring in Jujutsu society; all of it has Kanjaku's hand directly or indirectly.
Everything was going smoothly until Naoya Zenin caught Kanjaku's eyes in a most unexpected but, at the same time, most coincidental lucky, for him, situation.
Naoya Zenin is indeed a cog, without a doubt, but that cog has enough power to turn all the gears he carefully constructed through the centuries-long experiment into a toy, which will have no other use than the aesthetic sense of how deep his plan would have run if not for said cog.
Kanjaku didn't fear the Naoya the world knows; no, that Naoya is weak with only his Reverse Curse Technique as a standout. What he fears is the Naoya who is hidden from the world, who is sharpening his knife for the enemies who are yet to come to light.
If Kanjaku himself hadn't come to see Naoya Zenin's power with his own two eyes, then he would have underestimated him, and by now, Geto Suguru would have become a handful of ashes. And his plan would once again be put on hold for another century, but that time the situation wouldn't be as ideal as it currently is.
And after knowing most of what Naoya Zenin is, a question formed in Kanjaku's mind. Who exactly was Naoya Zenin?
Until around 14 years old, he was as ordinary as any arrogant brat in the great family will get: narrow-minded, sexist, easy to offend, weak, and nothing out of the ordinary for a Zenin clan heir. But it was after helping Maki and Mai that rumors about him being a genius and monster started to spread.
"Previous Naoya Zenin obviously has been replaced by someone else." A normal conclusion, but the headache lies in who replaced Naoya Zenin.
Kanjaku considered that it would be the old sorcerer, who turned himself or herself into something like a cursed object, and by some coincidence Naoya Zenin found it, and the new Naoya Zenin got the body, but that theory didn't support the evidence of why the new Naoya Zenin is learning martial arts and even getting a full-blown explosion from being unable to control curse energy, which means he is new to curse energy.
"Lots of holes in his existence. But with time I would get a sharper look at what he truly is." Just then Kanjaku's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the opening door.
And what entered was a humanoid shape with pale gray skin, a man, but the top of his head faded into a brown color where the volcanic opening was. He had a single cycloptic eye, two openings on the sides of his head that served as ears, and black teeth. His ears are plugged with large corks.
"I see that you adjusted with your new body."
"Jogo, I see that your injury also healed." The humanoid man, now identified as Jogo, gives out a grin with his charcoal-black teeth to what, from one look, would identify as Geto Suguru.
"Yes," Jogo answered to Geto, aka Kanjaku's question; the injury was a result that came from a fight with Geto Suguru for Kanjaku to claim the body.
"Was it necessary to fasten your plan this much?" Jogo asked, though he himself was only mildly interested in the answer; if Geto didn't answer, he would just shrug and say the reason why he came, but to his surprise, Geto nodded.
"Yes, it was necessary. Geto Suguru's plan to cause pandemonium in Jujutsu society would have had a lot of advantages, but due to an unexpected factor at play, the overall outcome would have been disastrous for us."
"Anyway, why did you come to visit me?" Geto asked as he picked a flower from the vase near him and started picking each petal in a deliberate manner.
"Loyal followers of Geto Suguru are asking to meet their leaders, as it has been a month since they saw you. My thoughts are they started to suspect foul play, and they are growing restless. At the rate it's going, your minions wouldn't hold them off much longer."
Geto nodded at Jogo's words; due to hastiness in the change of plan, he didn't get to deal with the aftermath of taking over Geto Suguru's body. Which mainly contains Geto Suguru's previous relations. Given the usefulness of Geto's colleagues in the next part of his plan, he can't simply kill them off either.
"How is the preparation for war coming?" Geto asked as he plucked the last petal from the flower, leaving only its middle part.
"It's your curse that's going to attack, so I say everything is going accordingly."
Geto was not going to abandon Geto Suguru's previous plan of attacking the Jujutsu Society; in fact, he is going to intensify the attack and increase the death toll for Jujutsu sorcerers. Because it would be a nice support for him in the future after all, Jujutsu sorcerers can't easily fill up the vacancy that will form through the war.
"Target Maki Zenin, Mai Zenin or Mei Mei."
Jogo raised his single eyebrow at that request from Geto: "Any special reason I should look out for?"
"Nothing particular. But do keep in mind to not be involved directly."
