CH-1 The Day I Lost Everything
It was the day of my fifth birthday.
I was very happy that day.
My mother, my little sister, and I had just returned from the market after shopping. When we reached home, I started playing with my sister, while my mother began preparing my birthday cake.
After some time, I went outside to play. When I came back, it was already evening. All the birthday preparations were complete. We were just waiting for my father.
When he finally arrived, he looked very nervous.
I looked at my father — Louis Black. He was a Sword Knight Captain of second squad . It was the first time in my life that I had seen him so afraid.
He quickly said, "Pack all the important things. We are leaving this town immediately."
My mother, Rimson Black, asked him what had happened. But he only said, "I'll explain on the way."
We were about to leave when several Sword Guard captains arrived with their teams, along with Magic Knights.
By that time, my family had already been declared traitors for the world .
My mother was trying to calm my little sister. My father had prepared a secret tunnel for situations like this, so we decided to escape through it.
But suddenly, we felt someone's aura.
It was a member of Magic Knight Squad 7 — someone who could see through walls and sense everything within a ten-meter range.
Our location was exposed.
Soon, some squad members entered the tunnel to capture us.
My father stayed behind to hold them off.
I was running with my mother, and she was carrying my little sister.
Then, from behind me, a sharp blade coated with aura came flying toward us.
My mother sensed it.
But she was too late.
In a single moment, everything changed.
Her last words were, "Protect your sister…"
Tears kept falling from my eyes.
When my father saw this, he became furious. He began cutting down the knights who stood in his way.
Soon, a Magic Knight Captain from 7th squad and a Sword Captain form 3rd appeared before him. They had come to kill him.
But my father was also a Sword Knight Captain — leader of third squad.
He clashed with them and told me, while I was crying, to run.
So I ran, holding my sister tightly.
My father coated his sword with aura and managed to overpower both captains.
But then, someone stabbed him from behind.
Even so, he defeated the two captains.
When he came back to us, poison had already spread through his body.
He told me only one thing.
"You are special."
Then he made me promise to take care of my sister.
Through tears, I promised him.
More Magic Knights and Sword Knights were approaching.
With the last of his strength, my father increased his aura and stood against them to give us time.
I kept running.
I couldn't accept what had happened.
I was too afraid to even look back.
I just kept running.
And eventually…
I collapsed and lost consciousness.
