Chapter 1 - Love story

Waited

In a small seaside town lived a girl named Lily. She loved sunsets more than anything. Every evening, she would sit on the old wooden pier, watching the sky turn shades of gold and pink. She believed that one day, she would meet someone who loved sunsets just as much as she did.

One summer evening, as the waves gently touched the shore, a boy named Daniel sat a few steps away from her. He wasn't looking at the sea. He was looking at her.

"You're going to miss the best part," Lily said softly, pointing at the sky.

Daniel smiled. "I think I'm already looking at it."

Lily laughed, thinking it was just a silly line. But Daniel kept coming back every evening. Sometimes they talked about dreams. Sometimes about fears. Sometimes they just sat in silence, watching the sun disappear into the horizon.

Days turned into weeks. Weeks turned into months.

Daniel told her he wanted to become an architect and build homes filled with light. Lily wanted to travel the world and write stories about love and hope. They promised that no matter where life took them, they would always meet again at sunset — even if it was in different cities, under different skies.

But life isn't always simple.

Daniel got accepted into a university far away. The night before he left, they sat on the pier one last time.

"Promise me you won't forget our sunsets," Lily whispered.

"I could forget my name," Daniel said, "but never this. Never us."

Years passed. They changed. They grew. They chased their dreams.

One evening, Lily — now a writer — returned to her hometown to clear her thoughts. She walked to the pier, not expecting anything. The sky was painted in gold and pink, just like before.

And there he was.

A little older. A little taller. But the same smile.

"You're going to miss the best part," she said again.

Daniel stepped closer. "I already found it."

This time, she didn't laugh.

Because some love stories aren't about perfect timing.

They're about waiting.
