A brilliant, cheerful smile swept across Sarah's face, carrying with it a lighthearted chuckle as she hurried across the sunlit courtyard to meet Julie. Her purple graduation cap tipped precariously against a sudden gust of wind, nearly tumbling onto the pavement before Julie's quick hands caught it mid-air.
"Ah, thank you! Are we late?" Sarah winced slightly, taking the velvet cap back and carefully repositioning it over her soft curls.
Julie let out a bright, ringing laugh and shook her head. "Relax, calm down! We are definitely not late. Come here, let me fix your makeup real quick." Julie immediately dug through her small designer bag, pulled out a sleek tube of lipstick and a fine cosmetic brush, and stepped in close to touch up Sarah's lips.
Sarah instinctively pulled back with a shy chuckle, convinced her face was already fine as it was. "I'm totally fine, Jul, really!"
