Silence. The living room is empty. Arjun, shaking, flips all the lights on. Nothing seems changed – except the creeping feeling in his gut that nothing will ever be the same. He checks his phone: no new calls, no messages.
Outside, dawn approaches. In a daze, he descends the basement stairs one last time, determined to end this. The hatch is gone – it's just floor now. Above, the watch ticks to 2:17 AM once more. He puts down the radio, which still quietly crackles with white noise.
He looks at the wall – the messages have vanished, leaving only scuffed concrete. Every scratch, every bruise on his body tells him the truth. Slowly, Arjun realizes: he's back at the moment it all began. The loop has reset, but now he understands.
The radio suddenly changes: static resolves into a voice – a cheerful feminine voice says, "Good morning, dear." Arjun freezes. It's not his voice. Pulling back his sleeve, he sees today's date scrawled on his wrist in fresh ink.
Before he can react, the basement lights flicker on of their own accord – again. The static grows louder as if pulsing with the flicker. Arjun closes his eyes, bracing. Wasn't he supposed to escape this loop?
