Chapter 1 - chapter 1

The Secret of the Old Banyan Tree

Chapter 1: The Hidden Map

Progga was a brave and intelligent girl who lived in a quiet village surrounded by green fields and a small river. She loved reading books about adventure and mystery. Her dream was to explore the world and discover hidden secrets.

One summer afternoon, while cleaning her grandfather's old wooden trunk, Progga found something unusual. Inside an old diary, there was a small, folded paper. It looked very old and yellow. Carefully, she opened it.

It was a map.

At the top of the page, there was a drawing of a huge banyan tree near the river. Under it, some words were written:

"Where the roots touch the earth, the truth waits below."

Progga's heart started beating fast. She knew the banyan tree mentioned in the map. It was the oldest tree in the village. People said it was more than a hundred years old. Some villagers even believed it was magical.

The next morning, Progga packed a small bag with a torch, a notebook, and a bottle of water. She told her best friend Rohan about the map. At first, Rohan was scared.

"What if it's dangerous?" he asked.

Progga smiled. "We won't know unless we try."

They quietly walked to the old banyan tree. The tree looked huge and mysterious. Its long roots touched the ground like giant snakes. The wind made strange sounds through its leaves.

They searched around the tree. Suddenly, Progga noticed something different. One root looked loose. She touched it carefully. Underneath, she saw a small wooden box half-buried in the soil.

With excitement, they dug it out.

Inside the box, there was no gold or treasure. Instead, there were old letters and photographs. The letters were written by Progga's great-grandfather. They told the story of how he helped build the village school many years ago. He had hidden these memories to protect them during difficult times.

Progga felt proud. The real treasure was not money—it was her family's history and bravery.

She looked at Rohan and said, "Sometimes, the greatest treasure is the truth."

That day, Progga learned that adventure is not only about finding gold, but about discovering stories, courage, and love.
