[Silent Threshold — Combat Zone — 6:53 PM]
Viktor arrived in four minutes.
The boat at the Silent Threshold's outer limit — it couldn't go further without the spiritual plane interfering with the engine. Viktor jumped to the ground before the boat fully stopped, the medical bag in hand, his eyes taking inventory of the team on the ground in three seconds.
"Emily first," said Kira.
"Alex first," said Viktor. "Internal bleeding. The rest can wait two minutes."
Viktor crossed the space toward Alex.
---
The angel saw him.
F7 was withdrawn — Alex had no channel reading. But he didn't need F7 to see what the angel saw: the bearer with HP at zero lying on the Threshold's ground, the Fragments withdrawn, his body showing forty minutes of deferred damage.
Without the two scythes.
Without the Harvester's attire.
Without F7 reading the channel.
The narrowest window that had existed in the entire fight.

**"Alex."**
