Chapter 2: Coffee and Confessions
It started with coffee.
Meera dragged Kabir to a small café near college called "Brewed Stories."
"You need to socialize," she insisted.
"I am socializing," he replied. "With you."
She rolled her eyes.
They sat near the window. Meera talked about her dream of becoming a journalist. She wanted to travel, to tell stories that mattered.
"And you?" she asked.
Kabir stared into his coffee. "I want to write music."
"Music?" her eyes widened. "You?"
He nodded.
"I compose at night. Just small pieces."
She looked at him differently that day.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"You never asked."
She smiled softly. "Play something for me someday."
Days passed, and one evening he finally did. He sent her a short piano composition he had recorded on his phone.
It was gentle. Emotional. Deep.
She called him immediately.
"Was that about someone?" she asked quietly.
He paused. "Maybe."
"Who?"
There was silence.
"You."
Her heart skipped.
Neither of them said anything for a few seconds. But the air between them felt different now.
