Chapter 9 - CHAPTER 25, 26,27

CHAPTER 25 — The Ghost of Chiyoda

Chairman Ishida's surrender was a facade. In the traditional underworld of Japan, shame can only be washed away with blood.

While Li Zheng Yuan and Gu Wei Chen stayed at their private ryokan, a shadow moved through the paper-thin walls. Not a soldier, but a Shinobi—a modern assassin hired by the Ishida remnants.

Li Zheng Yuan sat cross-legged, staring at a stone garden. The "Voice" was silent, but his skin crawled.

Left, his instinct whispered.

He tilted his head just as a ceramic needle hissed past his ear, embedding itself in the wooden pillar.

Gu Wei Chen was on his feet in a heartbeat, a suppressed pistol already in his hand. He didn't fire at the garden; he fired at the ceiling. A black-clad figure tumbled down, rolling and drawing a short blade.

"Stay back, Zheng Yuan," Wei Chen growled, his eyes sparking with the thrill of the hunt.

"No," Zheng Yuan said, standing up and shedding his suit jacket. His shirt stayed perfectly crisp. "He's mine."

The assassin lunged. Zheng Yuan didn't move like a CEO; he moved like a machine. He caught the assassin's wrist, twisted it until the bone snapped, and slammed him into the stone floor.

"Tell Ishida," Zheng Yuan whispered into the dying man's ear, "that I don't die in gardens."

CHAPTER 26 — The Silent Coup

While the leaders were in Tokyo, back in Shanghai, the "Shadow Protocol" flagged an internal threat.

Chen Rui stood in the central command hub. Xu Kai was sweating, his fingers blurring over the keys.

"Someone is trying to bypass the secondary encryption," Xu Kai muttered. "It's coming from inside the building. Floor 42. Logistics Division."

Chen Rui didn't call security. He walked to the weapons locker, pulled out a telescopic baton, and adjusted his glasses. He had spent months watching Li Zheng Yuan and Gu Wei Chen; he knew how to handle "anomalies."

He entered Floor 42 alone. A group of disgruntled executives, former Yonghe loyalists who had been absorbed, were huddled around a server terminal.

"Planning a walkout?" Chen Rui asked, his voice chillingly polite.

The lead executive sneered. "Zheng Yuan is gone. We're taking our data and leaving."

Chen Rui didn't argue. He moved. Three minutes later, the office was silent. Chen Rui stood over the groaning men, wiping a speck of dust from his shoe.

"The CEO is never gone," Chen Rui said, picking up his phone. "Xu Kai, clear the floor. We have trash to remove."

The "Shadow" had spread. Even the assistant was now a predator.

CHAPTER 27 — The Final Surrender

The next morning, Li Zheng Yuan and Gu Wei Chen didn't send a message. They walked into the Ishida Clan's headquarters in the heart of Shinjuku.

They carried a small wooden box.

Chairman Ishida sat behind his desk, his face pale. "You... you survived."

Li Zheng Yuan placed the box on the desk. "Your assassin was talented. But he was slow."

Gu Wei Chen opened the box. Inside was the broken ceramic needle and the assassin's mask.

"Shanghai is our heart," Zheng Yuan said, leaning over the desk, his shadow swallowing the old man. "But Tokyo is now our limb. If you ever try to cut us again, I won't just kill you, Ishida. I will erase your name from every history book in Japan."

Ishida looked at Gu Wei Chen, who was casually leaning against the door, humming a dark tune. Then he looked at Li Zheng Yuan—the man who looked like an angel but spoke like a demon.

The Chairman stood up and bowed. Deeply.

"The Ishida Clan is yours," he whispered.

Li Zheng Yuan turned to leave, but he stopped at the door. He looked at his reflection in the polished black marble wall.

The reflection didn't just smile this time. It winked.

"Wei Chen," Zheng Yuan said as they stepped out into the Tokyo sun. "Where to next?"

Wei Chen grinned, putting on his sunglasses. "I hear Singapore is nice this time of year."
