Chapter 2 - Not An Everyday Thing

Lyssandra's pov

Having a freaking revolver pointed at you, isn't something you see everyday.

I could feel cold sweat running down my spine but I still didn't drop to my knees, I did nothing wrong and I wasn't serving any bastard.

"Come on, shoot me?" I daunted, ignoring the slight tremble in my voice. "But don't forget, even before I die. I'd bring down this whole club with me"

He took a step forward, his other hand that had been placed on his stomach was now placed on his hip.

"And what the heck do you mean by that?"

He asked but I just chuckled. "I might play dumb but that doesn't mean I'm ignorant. I've seen you supply ammunition to those shady looking guys that come into this club at least once a week, if I tell that to the police...I might actually get to live"

He squinted at me for a moment, running his hand through his hair.

"You really are a sly bitch, aren't you?" He asked. "Hey, boys! I need you to take this wench and her things out of here, take her into one of those alleys and do whatever you see fit with her. Make sure she learns how to keep her fucking mouth in check"

He turned to the bodyguards at the door, not even giving me a chance to respond.

The bodyguards moved from their position, coming towards me. I gritted my teeth in anger, slapping off the hands that came toward me.

"I thought you were going to kill me! Come back here, you chicken!"

Dennis didn't even look back once, he walked out of the door rolling the revolver between his fingers.

I bit on my lower lip after the door closed behind him, the bodyguard's eyes turned towards me and I took a step backwards.

My hand moving towards the handle of the exit just behind me, I definitely didn't want to get beaten up today.

Just as the door opened up behind me, the bodyguards immediately dashed towards me, one grabbing my bag on the way out.

I ran down the dark hallway, glancing back every once in a while to check if they were still following me.

"Sandra, you know running is practically useless" One of the bodyguard's, named James muttered as he closed in on me.

"You both really don't have to do this, you can tell Boss and Dennis that you've taken care of it and I'd leave without causing trouble for you guys" I yelled over my shoulder, increasing my pace slightly.

I wasn't exactly looking at what was in front of me till I slammed into something hard.

"Fuck!" I exclaimed, slapping a hand over my forehead as I stumbled backwards. I felt two hands on my arm as they held me in place. "Who the fuck—"

The rest of the words got stuck in my eyes once I looked up, a man dressed in an all black suit stood a few feets away from me...but that wasn't what caught my attention exactly, it was the raven mask he had on.

"F-forgive us, Mr Valenta" James bowed slightly, turning his head to me before nudging his head towards the direction of the raven head man.

"I-i'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings" I muttered, I had no idea why exactly goosebumps were forming on my skin. But all I knew was that, I just wanted to go home!

"Hmm, carry on" Raven head man said, not sparing me another glance as he walked away.

"Arrg! Why did you have to go bump into someone like that?" James half yelled, shoving me away from him the moment we got out of the club.

"Don't you dare yell at me. If you weren't running after me, that wouldn't have happened" I retorted, hands crossed against my chest. "If anything goes wrong, you'd get blam—"

James slapped me hard against the cheek, my head snapping to the side as I heard a dull ringing in my ear. For a moment, I just remained frozen in place even when I felt something warm in my mouth.

'Could this day get any worse?' I asked myself inwardly.

"Did you just slap me?!" I screamed, but I didn't let him respond as I spat out whatever fluid that had gathered in my mouth right in his face.

"Fuck! You lunatic!" James yelled back, swiping a hand over his face before staring at the blood that had coated his hand. "You, take care of her and head back in. I need to wash this off"

James said to his colleague, casting me a warning glance before heading back inside the club.

I could still feel the lingering pain of the slap in my cheeks, I wiped the corner of my lips raising my head to stare at the unidentified bodyguard that still remained standing in his place even after James had walked off.

"What? Aren't you going to hit me too?" I daunted, my lips curling into a mocking smile.

"I don't beat women. You just need to shut your mouth for a moment and I'll let you go soon" he responded coldly, throwing my bag at me.

I caught it immediately and my lips curled into a small smile. I leaned against the wall behind me, waiting in utter silence.

The bodyguard didn't even look at me, his head was lifted slightly as he stared up at the dark sky.

A few minutes later, he took a step closer to me. "You can go now. But don't think of even coming back here, else you might end up dead"

"T-thank you" I muttered with a small bow. I might be stubborn as hell and a bit of a bitch, but trust me, I wasn't rude enough to walk away without even thanking him.

"Now, go! "

He didn't need to tell me twice, I immediately walked out of the alley and headed in the opposite direction. My next destination...Home!
