Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Harvest Church

After everything calmed down, the priest introduced himself, "My name is Utrarfsky, and I am the only clergyman of the Harvest Church of the Earth Mother Church in Backlund."

"You can call me 'Father Utravsky' or 'Bishop Utravsky,' either is fine."

Upon hearing this, the two also introduced themselves, "Good day, Bishop Utravsky, my name is Altair Sheffield."

"Good day, Bishop Utravsky, my name is Vera, and I am Earl Altair's personal maid."

When Utrarfsky heard Vera's introduction, he immediately turned his head and began to re-examine Altair.

Through observation, Altair also noticed that when the priest looked at him, he clearly had some ideas about him. Does he want to develop me into a believer?

When Utrarfsky realized that his behavior had been rude, he quickly withdrew his gaze and asked, "May I ask what brings you two to the Harvest Church? Is there anything I can help you with?"

"You are too kind, Bishop."

Altair replied politely and explained his purpose, "I mainly heard that there is a church of the Earth Mother Church nearby, and I came out of curiosity to take a look."

"It was rude of us to come out of curiosity. May the Mother God not blame us."

After hearing the explanation, Utrarfsky calmly said, "I don't think the Mother God will send down divine punishment because of this."

"The core doctrine of my church is 'life is precious, harvest is joyful.' Moreover, now is precisely the time for the church to receive believers. It's just that the Mother God's believers are few in the Loen Kingdom, which is why I temporarily left the church."

...As the Sun was about to set, Altair and Vera left the Harvest Church and took a carriage home.

Vera, who had a belly full of questions, curiously asked, "Earl Altair, is the Earth Mother Church really as Bishop Utravsky said?"

"Why do I feel a bit strange? If it's really as he said, why are there so few believers in the Loen Kingdom?"

Vera's words did not receive a reply from Altair. He himself was thinking about the information he had gained from his conversation with Utrarfsky.

Utrarfsky initially had the idea of making him believe in the Earth Mother, but for some reason, he gave up.

It should be because of my identity. If he used normal means, he might not be able to persuade me to become a believer, or it might even have the opposite effect.

If he used Beyonder means, he might be afraid of violating rules and being caught, which would cause the Earth Mother Church to completely lose its right to preach in Backlund.

But for Vera, he was very attentive. After all, she was a person without faith, and he was a clergyman, so he kept advising Vera to become a believer of the Earth Mother... Through the conversation, he learned that Frank Lee had already left the Earth Mother Church and gone overseas.

For Altair, he actually quite wanted to meet this Mushroom King.

After all, this person's reputation was not low at all. He was known as an existence who could awaken within the Mother God, achieving an upset.

He also wanted to try giving him knowledge related to botany, biology, genetics, and so on, to see what he could create.

But unfortunately, he came too late; the person had already left, so he could only find an opportunity later.

When Altair came back to his senses, he looked at Vera, who was still looking at him with her round eyes, and said helplessly,

"I'm not sure about the Earth Mother Church, after all, the headquarters of this church is not in the Loen Kingdom, so it's impossible to understand it more deeply."

"But if you want to believe in 'Her,' it's also a good choice."

Upon hearing this, Vera immediately turned her head, facing Altair with her profile, and said, "I won't believe in 'Them.'"

...When the Sun had completely set, the carriage also returned home. Upon entering the house, they found that Hahn, Freya, and Eileen had also returned.

After a simple dinner, Vera immediately took out the small cakes purchased that afternoon. Altair only kept one lemon cake and then let her take the rest of the cakes to share with others.

The soft butter cake base was drizzled with a layer of sweet and sour lemon glaze. The cake's sweetness and the lemon's refreshing fruit acid formed a perfect balance, with a light texture that melted in the mouth.

After this period of eating, Altair also understood why so many girls in his previous life loved to eat all kinds of small cakes.

When there's nothing to do, taking a bite like this can both pass the time and enjoy delicious food, killing two birds with one stone.

But perhaps due to his taste, he felt that the cake was delicious, but after eating one, he didn't want to eat any more; eating too much still felt overly sweet. It might also be that too much sugar was added... After Altair completely finished dinner, he went to the study to listen to Hahn and Freya's work reports for the day.

First, Hahn said, "The requirements for the banquet at the suburban manor have been arranged properly. Some servants have been left there to follow the specialist's command to ensure the banquet can proceed normally tomorrow."

"I have also taken those special items to the manor and hidden them, and I've had Simon's team stay behind to guard them."

"Earl Altair, isn't this too rushed? Although those items have been tested, according to the factory's opinion, they can still be optimized. After optimization, they should be able to create higher profits."

Hahn's words completely reassured Altair, as this concerned his future plans.

He then said, "Although the timing is indeed very tight, causing unavoidable flaws in the goods, this is also one of its selling points. After all, an item that never breaks is not a good product."

"The hasty forging now just leaves room for future product updates, as long as its safety is guaranteed."

...At this moment, the conversation between the two left Freya feeling bewildered. Wasn't a banquet being organized tomorrow?

How did it get involved with selling goods? Is there a necessary connection between these two things? Does Earl Altair want to promote goods through tomorrow's banquet?

After Freya heard that there was no more conversation outside, she looked at the two of them, and finding that she could speak, she said,

"As you requested, this afternoon when I went to deliver invitations to other nobles, I personally watched them read the invitation letters. All of them gave the same reply, stating that they would definitely attend on time tomorrow."

"But I always feel that they were overly enthusiastic. From my arrival to after they read the letter, if I may be frank, I always felt that their emotional control was not in place."

Listening to Freya's words, Hahn, who knew the truth about the banquet, of course knew why they were so enthusiastic. He couldn't help but inwardly grumble, "If you're delivering money, and you're not enthusiastically received, then others will find an excuse to directly kick you out, because if too many people participate, you'll get less."
