Xuan brought Akahane Yui, along with Uchiha Shinji, all the way back to Xin City. Everyone else was left behind to line their pockets with spoils.
The moment they entered the city, Uchiha Mu, who had been left behind to guard the fortress, hurried over to greet them. "Lord Shinji! Lord Xuan!" he bowed respectfully, then asked in confusion, "Why are only the two of you returning? Where are the others?"
As he spoke, he cast a questioning glance at Akahane Yui, but he wasn't the gossiping type and didn't press the issue.
Xuan waved his hand and laughed. "Don't worry about it. They will definitely be back before nightfall. Just wait and see."
Uchiha Shinji silently glanced at Xuan. Seeing Xuan wave his hand lightly in dismissal, Shinji understood the gesture and took his leave.
Uchiha Mu secretly let out a sigh of relief. To be completely honest, seeing only Xuan and Shinji return, his heart had leapt into his throat, terrified that some catastrophic accident had occurred. It was only after seeing their entirely relaxed postures that he felt confident enough to ask.
"Alright, just do your job and wait for them to return," Xuan said. Grabbing Yui by the arm, he pulled her toward his personal courtyard.
Upon returning to his quarters, he collapsed exhausted onto his futon. Having engaged in intense, high-stakes combat for the entire night—assassinating two Peak Jōnin and then sweeping the battlefield with the Flying Raijin—he was physically and mentally drained. He desperately wanted to just bury his face in the mattress and sleep. However, he had long since sweat through his clothes during the brutal fighting, and after slaughtering so many people, he was splattered with blood—he couldn't even tell whose it was anymore. It had all dried into a stiff, sticky crust against his skin, making him incredibly uncomfortable.
"Yui, go boil some water for my bath," Xuan commanded naturally, his face still buried in his pillow.
"What?" Yui's bright eyes widened slightly. This bastard was actually ordering her to do such menial chores?! Back home, people had always served her!
She gritted her teeth in fury, but she knew she couldn't disobey his commands. She had already come to fully recognize this reality. Therefore, she turned around and headed out to find the kitchen and the bathing room. It was better to obey actively rather than letting the contract force her body to move against her will; she harbored a deep, lingering dread of that sensation of absolute loss of bodily autonomy.
Clumsily arranging the firewood and lighting it, the former eldest daughter of the Akahane clan—and the current Patriarch of the Akahane clan—began the very first servant experience of her entire life.
Half an hour later, still feeling a bit groggy, Xuan walked out of his room and saw Yui's busy silhouette. She clearly had absolutely no experience doing this kind of work, so she was moving very slowly, carrying buckets of boiling water one by one to fill the wooden tub in the bathing room before reaching her hand in to test the temperature.
Xuan nodded in satisfaction, thinking delightedly, It's been six years. I can finally return to the corrupt, decadent lifestyle I enjoyed back at the main clan.
Thinking of this, his mood dampened slightly. Six years. To be completely honest, he did miss his little maid back at the clan compound quite a bit. He wondered how she was doing now. But considering everything, she should be living quite comfortably. He had left her a massive sum of money, and his reputation among the clan's younger generation was extremely high. No one would dare make things difficult for her.
"The water is ready."
Just as Xuan was reminiscing about his little maid, his current maid spoke up with an extremely frigid, hostile tone.
Xuan frowned slightly. She still needs training, he thought to himself.
"You need to call me 'Master,' understand?" he reprimanded lightly.
Yui's expression instantly twisted into something incredibly bizarre, as if she were desperately fighting the urge to speak. Yet, completely unable to stop herself, her voice rang out, "Master."
"That's a good girl." Xuan smiled smugly. He stood up and walked into the bathing room. Glancing back at her with an odd look, he asked, "Aren't you coming in?"
Yui's face flushed with fury. "You bastard!" But despite her words, her feet stepped forward, following him inside. She knew she was completely powerless to resist.
Locking the bathing room door behind him, Xuan had already hopped into the tub, the warm water rising to his neck. Without turning around, he said, "Come here and wash me. You really are an unprofessional maid."
Yui's heart was filled with bitter indignation. She could only shuffle toward him inch by inch until she stood completely motionless behind the tub, remaining perfectly silent.
Xuan tilted his head back and glanced at her. "Give me a full-body massage first," he said. Leaning his head back against the rim of the tub, he closed his eyes, assuming an expectant posture.
About half a minute later, Yui's soft, jade-like fingers pressed against his temples, gently massaging in small circles. She had never served another person in her life, let alone performed a technical skill like massage. Her technique was incredibly green and clumsy.
Half an hour later, Xuan emerged feeling completely refreshed and rejuvenated. He returned to his room and fell into a deep, peaceful sleep.
He slept soundly until nightfall. Waking up, his spirits were fully restored. He glanced at the neighboring room, which had its lights on, and smiled, shaking his head. In the north, he lived in an independent courtyard with many empty rooms. Living here alone had always felt a bit deserted; now that Yui had moved in, it finally added a touch of life to the place.
Walking up to her door, he knocked lightly. "Yui, get up. Let's go eat."
There was no movement inside. A long while later, a voice as quiet as a mosquito's hum drifted out, "I... I don't have any clothes to wear."
He found a hidden sentry and summoned a Chūnin, ordering him to fetch a few sets of women's clothing and deliver them to his courtyard.
Opening the door, he found Yui curled up tightly in her futon like a frightened kitten. Seeing him enter, she cried out in alarm, "Why did you come in?!" and pulled the blanket even tighter around herself.
Xuan found it highly amusing. He tossed the clothes directly in front of her. "Hurry up and change. We have things to do after dinner."
Yui bit her lip softly. "Turn around."
Xuan raised an eyebrow. Instead of turning around, he locked the door behind him. "It seems you haven't fully grasped your current situation, Young Miss. Change your clothes right now and come out with me."
Yui let out a gasp of shock. Her body stood up entirely out of her control, and piece by piece, she began to dress herself right in front of him.
