Chapter 54 - A sudden transfer

She couldn't wait to get home.

The moment the clock struck four, summer break would officially begin. Her parents had already left to visit her aunt in Tokyo, which meant the house would be empty. No parties this time—the last one had ended badly enough. This summer she wanted something simpler. Texting her friends to plan a beach day. Maybe karaoke. There was a new dessert shop near her house she'd been meaning to try. And, more than anything, the cosplay convention for her favorite anime.

Most girls in her class didn't get it. She didn't care. Her childhood friend had been the one to introduce her to anime and manga, and she'd been hooked ever since. He had passed away three years ago. Watching without him never felt quite the same, but she still did it. In a way, it felt like keeping a small part of him alive.

As she thought of him, she remembered something very important. Something so important, she couldn't go home right away.

Her final class was math. No one liked it. It was the kind of subject you endured, like bitter medicine—you could get through it, but you'd rather not.

Her eyes stayed fixed on the clock above the blackboard. The hands seemed to crawl. She wasn't the only one watching. The entire class kept glancing up, waiting for their freedom. Even the teacher checked it between sentences.

Five seconds.

Four.

Three.

Two.

One.

The clock struck four.

A violent wind exploded through the classroom.

Desks rattled, and textbooks flew. Some students tried to reach for their books, but they were lifted off their feet as the air roared around them. Soon, both students and teachers alike were hovering in mid-air. Screams filled the room. She lunged for her bag before it could be torn away—some of her clothes were inside.

Below them, a glowing circle flared to life on the floor, covered in shifting symbols. Streams of light rose from it. Golden light wrapped around the girls. Azure light swallowed the boys.

Red and purple colors reached for her at once.

The red and purple light coiled around her body, overlapping and tightening, until they formed a dense cocoon of energy. She kicked and twisted, trying to force her way out, but the light only held her more firmly in place.

Then a voice spoke—not in her ears, but deeper, as if it were addressing her soul.

『Begin body reconstruction 』

Body reconstruction? Who are you, and what do you mean by body reconstruction?

The voice ignored her questions and continued speaking.

『Converting body into Magical Energy Core』

Suddenly, the girl's body began to glow a bright red, like neon lights. Then her body began to twist inward. It wasn't painful, but it wasn't exactly a pleasant feeling.

She had suddenly become small, and her body was now gone. She was just...there.

Then the cocoon began to warp itself around her. She felt a warmth enter her body like a bolt of electricity. Slowly but surely, she felt herself growing back to her original size. As she grew, the cocoon faded away until she saw nothing but darkness ahead.

She looked down and saw her body had been completely reconstructed. But it was still glowing. This time, a mixture of red and purple.

But forget about that.

What really caught her attention was the mutli colored sea below her. She was only inches away from it.

『Body reconstruction complete』

『Begin Skill transfer』

『Soul Skills: Crimson Genesis and Void Horizon Acquired 』

『Core skill: Regeneration Acquired 』

『Link Skill: Spirit Possession, Spirit Control and Spirit Weaver Acquired 』

『Astral Skill: Ifrit — Lord of Flames Acquired 』

『Conditions to activate Ifrit have not been met 』

『Astral Skill Ifrit — Lord of Flames will remain dormant until awakening 』

Wait...gaining skills, reconstructing my body, a glowing circle on the floor. Am I being isekaied!?

That was the only explanation that made sense to her. With her anime knowledge, she should have known from the moment she saw the magic circle on the ground.

But wait...what about Mom and Dad? When they find out I'm missing, they'll be so worried. Not to mention, I won't be able to visit him anymore.

Today was the day that her childhood friend died. On this day, she would go and visit him at the cemetery and tell him everything that happened that year. But now, she wouldn't be able to. In fact, she wouldn't be able to visit him ever again.

But if she learned anything from anime, it's that when you're summoned, it's usually to defeat some demon lord. Once defeated, the heroes would automatically be transported back to their world. So that's all she had to do. She had to make sure she defeated the demon lord. It would be a difficult task, but to make it back, she'd risk her own life if it came down to it.

Wait...where's my bag?

She looked around, but her bag was nowhere to be seen. It was quite inconvenient. Why did this summoning have to be so vague? Why couldn't it just be a straight teleportation?

Her phone, on the other hand, was floating in the dark void.

Thank God, she thought to herself as she grabbed it.

Suddenly, the glowing multi-colored sea began rising upwards.

The shifting lights of the void warped into a blinding geometric blur.

The last thing she saw was a chaotic ripple in the air. Then, gravity returned, pulling her down forcefully.

Suddenly, she blacked out.

The next thing she felt was a bump that made her tumble and fall. She opened her eyes, and her vision began to adjust to the blinding light above.

What happened? And why are my legs so tired?

She finally began looking around and saw she was in a massive hallway with blinding lights shaped like diamonds.

And sitting directly in front of her was a girl with black hair and golden eyes. She was quite beautiful, to say the least. The girl looked at her completely The girl looked at her completely dumbfounded, then her face began to turn a bright crimson red.

And that's when she noticed the girl was naked.
