Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The God of Dreams

Chapter 2: The God of Dreams

Name, things you like and dislike, and dreams.

Most of the students' dreams were to become the Hokage or a great Ninja.

Uchiha Tenmei followed the crowd and also dreamed of becoming a great Ninja.

The self-introductions ended, and class officially began. Since more than half of the students in the class came from Civilian families and had no foundation in Ninjaknowledge—some didn't even know how to refine Chakra—the teacher had to start teaching from the most basic Ninja knowledge.

Students from Ninja Clans and Ninja families had already learned quite a bit of Ninja knowledge. Now that the teacher was explaining things they already understood, most of them stopped listening and did their own thing. The teacher didn't mind, as long as they didn't cause trouble or disrupt the class.

Uchiha Tenmei's adoptive father was a Genin, after all, and had taught Uchiha Tenmei some Ninja knowledge, so he didn't need to pay close attention to the class for the time being.

While his eyes were on the teacher, Uchiha Tenmei's mind was thinking about the dream godhead.

The dream godhead came with some fragmented memories of the God of Dreams, allowing Uchiha Tenmei to learn quite a lot about him.

That was a universe different from the ones Uchiha Tenmei lived in during his past and current lives. The rulers of that universe were a group of deities; this universe could be called the Cosmos of Gods.

Deities were powerful because each one mastered one or more rules of the Cosmos of Gods.

For example: Light, Fate, and Fire.

Rules could also be called Laws or the Dao.

A deity's strength was mainly composed of two parts: one was the strength of the Law itself, and the other was the deity's own attributes besides the Law, such as their body and soul—collectively known as Divine Power.

According to their strength, deities could be classified as: Feeble Divine Power, Lesser Divine Power, Intermediate Divine Power, Greater Divine Power, and Godly Divine Power.

Deities could cultivate to increase their strength, but doing it on their own was too slow.

Soon, the deities found a way to quickly increase their strength: spreading faith. By making all living beings their believers, deities could absorb the power of faithfrom them to rapidly enhance their strength.

However, there was a flaw: faith was toxic. The power of faith contained the stray thoughts of the believers. The more power of faith absorbed, the greater the influence on the deity.

Fortunately, the deities each had their own methods to slowly neutralize the toxicity of faith.

The God of Dreams mastered most of the Laws related to dreams. Compared to other Laws, these were not very strong. When spreading faith, he could only attract a relatively small number of believers, making the God of Dreams only a deity with Lesser Divine Power.

One day, the God of Dreams suddenly had an epiphany and thought of a way to quickly increase his strength.

The God of Dreams created another divine kingdom within the dream world, known as the Dream Divine Kingdom.

The God of Dreams first pulled the Soul Projections of some of his believers into the Dream Divine Kingdom. The believers would move around within the Dream Divine Kingdom, and the physical strength consumed by their Soul Projections' activities was actually spiritual energy, which was then absorbed by the Dream Divine Kingdom.

The essence of the power of faith was also spiritual energy, but the power of faith provided by believers to deities was spiritual energy carrying various stray thoughts.

In contrast, the spiritual energy absorbed by the Dream Divine Kingdom was extremely pure. It was non-toxic power of faith that the God of Dreams could absorb at will.

After conducting experiments with his own believers, the God of Dreams began to expand the scale of the Dream Divine Kingdom, allowing more living beings to enter without needing them to become his believers.

The Dream Divine Kingdom was incredibly attractive to intelligent races. Only Soul Projections entered; even if they died within the Dream Divine Kingdom, their soul essence would not be harmed—at most, it would be like having a nightmare.

However, in the Dream Divine Kingdom, one could engage in actual combat, information trading, learning, and various other activities.

Thus, more and more intelligent races entered the Dream Divine Kingdom, and the God of Dreamsobtained more and more non-toxic power of faith, allowing his strength to grow rapidly.

The God of Dreams had been hiding his secret. Because he was originally weak and inconspicuous, his number of believers hadn't increased much, and he hadn't tried to snatch the believers of other deities, so the other deities didn't pay him any mind.

Intermediate Divine Power.

Greater Divine Power.

The God of Dreams' strength was getting closer and closer to Godly Divine Power. An Over-god had never been born in the Cosmos of Gods; possessing Godly Divine Power would mean being crowned as the God King, the King of Gods, in the Cosmos of Gods.

However, as the God of Dreams grew stronger, it became increasingly difficult for him to hide his secrets and strength.

Eventually, the God of Dreams was exposed.

The gods did not want a king over their heads, and at the same time, they wanted to know the secret behind the God of Dreams' rapid growth in strength.

A Divine War broke out, and the gods joined forces to besiege the God of Dreams.

The God of Dreams fought against the many, but he was no match. Even if he gave the secret of his rapid strength growth to the other deities, they wouldn't be able to use it. He feared he could not escape falling.

If he was to fall, he wouldn't make it easy for the other deities either.

The God of Dreams burned all his power to launch a final strike. It was a power that had already reached the realm of Godly Divine Power, which no god could withstand.

Many deities were severely wounded or even fell under this strike.

Twilight of the Gods.

The God of Dreams, who had burned all his power, did not fall at that moment. The somewhat fragmented dream godhead, carrying the remnant soul of the God of Dreams, actually penetrated the barriers of the Cosmos of Gods under the force of that strike and wandered through the void.

The severely wounded God of Dreams' remnant soul fell into a deep sleep. Since he was far from the Cosmos of Gods and could not receive replenishment from the power of faith, his remnant soul was slowly eroded by the power of time.

After an unknown amount of time, the dream godhead, which no longer had a master, encountered the soul of a transmigrator traveling through space, and together they arrived in the Naruto World.

In the fragmented memories of the God of Dreams, Uchiha Tenmei felt the power of the gods. Compared to the Naruto World, even the weakest deity possessed power comparable to the Six Paths.

The most powerful deity was likely even stronger than the Ōtsutsuki God.

If Uchiha Tenmei possessed the power the God of Dreams had during the Divine War, he could completely dominate the Naruto Universe.

Unfortunately, Uchiha Tenmei was still a weakling. Due to his premature birth and natural talent, even though he had started cultivating long ago, he was only slightly stronger than most of the freshmen from Civilianfamilies in this year's class.

He couldn't compare with freshmen from Ninja families, let alone those from Ninja Clans.

Fortunately, he wasn't a dead last; such a thing was looked down upon even by his own clansmen.

Although he was only six years old, in the dangerous Naruto World, Uchiha Tenmei wanted to quickly gain power to protect himself and his family.

The dream godhead was the source of Uchiha Tenmei's confidence in quickly gaining power.

The dream godhead came from the Cosmos of Gods, but it could also play a powerful role in the Naruto Universe, equivalent to a very powerful divine artifact.

It was mainly because the God of Dreams' final strike had sublimated himself. If the dream godhead had only been at the Greater Divine Power level, the role it could play in the Naruto Universe would be limited, and it might not even have been qualified to travel through space.

With the dream godhead in hand, Uchiha Tenmei felt he could follow a path of growth similar to that of the God of Dreams!
