Chapter 10 - 10

Tsuna checked the bathroom so he could have some privacy while he ripped his new tickets. All of the stalls were empty, and no one should be coming here for at least a little while. Hopefully, with his enhanced senses, he could hear when someone got near.

He could have waited until he got home again to roll the tickets, but he did not want to wait. Tsuna was feeling some sympathy for those Gacha addicts; he felt the urge to roll as soon as he got a ticket, disregarding the need to hide his rewards from the public at large. Really, he was only slightly better than his fallen brethren, as his Gacha gave abilities and skills, not just digital waifus.

He took a deep breath and ripped one of the tickets he got for defeating Hibari.

[Charming Eyes]

|Common Trait|

Not to be confused with the mystical eyes of charming; instead of hypnotizing people, your eyes are just really pretty.

He could feel the changes coming immediately as his eyes started to burn. He turned on the faucet and splashed some water on his face, hoping the coolness of the water would take away some of the discomfort he was feeling. Once the burning went away, he looked up tentatively at his reflection.

His eyes really were pretty now.

His gaze shifted from the wide doe-like look he had before to a sharper, more narrow look. The brown in his pupils lightened until it was almost hazel, and there seemed to be a quality to those pupils that just drew people to look at them. It still looked like him, and Tsuna could have sworn his eyes might look like this when he was utterly serious about something, but now that look was just his regular gaze.

Tsuna felt a bit conflicted about the sudden change. Sure, it looked really nice, but he could have had superpowers with that roll. A common trait seemed pretty bad for a Silver Ticket.

In comparison to the Traits he got at the start of all of this, his rolls had been rather lackluster. Although Shock Absorption was a good pull.

He clapped his hands in a prayer as he tried to bargain with Lady Luck to help him out here. After that moment of dedication, he once more took out a ticket and ripped it.

[Literacy]

[Uncommon Skill|

You know how to read effectively; you'd be shocked at how little people possess this skill. You know all common languages and mundane languages of the world you are in, and are very skilled at reading books and grimoires, allowing you to read them much faster and digest the information inside of them better.

Tsuna read the title of this skill and felt a soul-crushing defeat. He knew how to fucking read. Even as a near-crippled Tsuna managed to learn how to do that, and here the Gacha was offering him something so basic. Then the knowledge slammed into his brain, nearly overloading him as his head throbbed over and over.

He let out a pained groan as he clutched at his head, feeling syntax and several languages shoved into his mind with the force of a runaway train. After a few moments that felt like eternity, he relaxed as the pain faded.

He then looked at his new skill with only a minor amount of disappointment. It was not the trash skill he thought it was, as it allowed him to learn hundreds of languages. It was not even just the ability to read; he knew how to speak all the languages that were shoved into his noggin.

So he did not have to worry about English or Japanese tests for the rest of his life, as the knowledge of language itself was etched into his mind. The skill was also helpful for the heir to a multi-national crime syndicate. He did not know for certain if the Vongola family was international, but he could now recognize that Reborn's "Ciaossu" was a bastardization of an Italian greeting and Japanese sensibilities.

So the Mafia should have some connections with at least Italy… who could have guessed that? He rolled his eyes at his own sarcastic thoughts.

He let out a deep sigh, already feeling the need to roll just one more Gacha but not having any tickets to roll. He left the bathroom and went back to class.

He ignored the snickers and whispered conversations and went back toward his seat. At least there were no idiots like Tanaka messing with him; they just mocked him with their words. In fact, Tanaka was really quiet and avoided looking at Tsuna like he was a plague god.

That sight alone made dealing with the usual garbage people talked about him easy to deal with. It was time to eat his lunch, so the chatter around the room was to be expected. So he headed toward his seat to eat; the last thing he wanted to be was hungry throughout the next periods.

He wanted to improve his image and grades, so being distracted because he missed a meal would not be good.

His homeroom teacher was already irritated with him because he missed the first period in its entirety. He only got away with a light scolding because he showed off the various bruises blooming on his body and the swelling from his broken hand. He told the teacher he got into an accident on his way to school and that was why he missed the first period.

The teacher stopped scolding him after that and let Tsuna go on with his day. Although they really should have sent him to the infirmary to deal with his injuries, Tsuna would take what he could get.

Tsuna got settled in his seat and brought out the bento his mother prepared. A veritable feast in comparison to most of the meals his classmates had, but his mother always took pride in her cooking.

He started eating, and a light frown appeared on his face. He was feeling a little lonely; it never bothered him before, but he wanted someone to talk to while he ate like everyone else.

He looked around and almost let out a self-deprecating chuckle. He may want to connect to those around him, but everyone in this room thought him a loser, and they were not going to deem him worth talking to.

The only people he could theoretically talk to were Kyoko and Hana, but both of them were eating in their little zone with their friends chatting around them happily.

They might happily include him in the conversation, but their friends would not want that. He was not going to ruin the mood just to make himself feel better; it was selfish, and it would put a strain on Kyoko and Hana's friendships with others.

He was just going to have to wait until his reputation increased before he tried to reach out to them. Tsuna let out a sigh and just continued to eat his meal.

A few minutes later, the door to their classroom opened, and someone entered. A tall boy with tannish skin, sharp spiky hair, and a cocky smirk on his face. He had a bag strung over his shoulder that contained a kendo sword.

Tsuna looked over at Mochida-senpai with a small frown. That boy was a regular sight in their classroom during breaks because he was pursuing Kyoko. Tsuna did not really like the boy because he was arrogant about his talent and tended to talk down to others.

Although he never really messed with Tsuna, not because it was above him, but because he had no reason to mess with the loser of Namimori.

"Kyoko-chan! As always, it's a pleasure to see you this morning," Mochida spoke out with a bright smile as he wandered over to Kyoko's group. He then sat down in a nearby chair, leaning toward Kyoko with that same smile on his face.

Kyoko's friends swooned and giggled at Mochida's actions, clearly wanting to tease their friend about having a boy show such blatant liking. Kyoko pouted at her friends and waved off their teasing, saying Mochida was just on the same committee as her. She then turned toward Mochida with her usual smile.

"I thought you would be busy with Kendo practice, Mochida-senpai," Kyoko stated simply as she looked over at their senpai.

Their interaction had Tsuna frowning deeper for a moment. He did not like this; he did not want to see Kyoko interacting with Mochida, but he struck that thought down.

He may not like Mochida-senpai, but it was not his right to dictate who Kyoko hung out with. She was her own person, and if she wanted to talk to him, she should be free to. Tsuna did not own her, and thoughts like that were possessive and shameless.

Mochida let out a disdainful snort and waved off her question with an air of nonchalant ease.

"I don't need to practice like the rest of my team; nationals are already in the bag. Those weaklings could not even score a point on me last tournament," Mochida declared with a cocky grin as he leaned back and radiated all the confidence he had in himself.

Tsuna snorted to himself quietly. His senpai might be an okay fighter for a human, but he was garbage in the wider world. Mochida was one of the tiniest ants in the world, but he boasted like he was king of all swords and his rule was all but guaranteed.

"You should still practice, Mochida-senpai," Kyoko scolded slightly, not taking his lackluster attitude well. She knew how much sweat and effort people put into sports, and anything less than your all was a mark of shame.

Again, Mochida let out a cocky laugh and waved off her concerns.

"Don't worry about it, Kyoko-chan. Just come to our next match, and you will see how awesome I really am," Mochida spoke out with a smirk as he relaxed in his seat again.

Tsuna rolled his eyes at that comment and decided to stop listening to this nonsense. He closed his finished lunch and started to get up to wash the container from the sauces. But someone noticed his small actions.

"You looking down on me, Loser!?" Mochida called out to Tsuna with a deep frown on his face. He saw Tsuna staring earlier and caught sight of his eye roll near the end.

The chatter that ran rampant throughout the room broke into silence as everyone looked over at the sudden scene, very interested in seeing how this played out.

Before Tsuna could respond, others beat him to it.

"Mou, that's not nice, Mochida-senpai," Kyoko spoke out with a frown.

"Doubt Fluffy would do anything like that," Hana piped in, trying to diffuse the situation. She shot Tsuna a slightly worried look. She had no idea if Tsuna really did do anything, but it was clear Mochida was picking a fight.

"Stay out of this. This is between me and the loser, unless he wants to hide behind some woman," Mochida spat out as he marched toward Tsuna, who was just watching him like this was all a big joke.

Tsuna was almost tempted to escalate this; it was not like Mochida could do anything against him. Sure, Tsuna was bruised and broken, but not even Hibari could handle Tsuna, so what chance did this idiot have?

But again, before he could say anything, the door to their classroom once more slammed open. This time the force had the glass cracking, and a familiar cold face entered the room.

The room went dead silent as Hibari entered the classroom. Even the aggression coming from Mochida faded away as he looked over and saw Hibari staring at him directly. Mochida went almost pale with Hibari's attention on him.

He had no idea what he did to piss off that demon, but he needed to grovel, and he needed to do it right now. Before Mochida could say anything, Tsuna spoke up.

"God fucking damnit," Tsuna cursed out and let out a deep sigh as he looked over at Hibari. His curse seemed to cast a spell over everyone in the room as they looked over at Tsuna all at once, as if not expecting anyone to be this suicidal.

Mochida almost leapt away from Tsuna to get away from the idiot who clearly wanted to die.

Hibari looked over at Tsuna with laser-like focus, and a bloodthirsty smile bloomed on his face.

"Fight me," Hibari demanded, not even bothering to register the rest of the room with his declaration. Kyoko let out a sharp gasp, and Hana stood up from her chair, suddenly very nervous for the fluff ball she cared for.

Now the room was looking at Tsuna like he was a dead man. Tsuna just let out a laugh that had the rest of the room on edge before he looked at Hibari with a tight smile.

"Losers don't get to demand things. We can fight tomorrow. I have things I need to do today," Tsuna spoke out softly, and the tension in the room almost exploded as the people here tried to get a handle on what was being said.

"No, fight me," Hibari commanded as he took out his tonfa and wielded them. Stalking toward Tsuna, a bunch of people scrambled out of the way and hung toward the walls, watching this in shock.

Tsuna rolled his eyes at Hibari, holding out his hand in the universal sign to stop.

"If you force this, I'm just going to knock you out again, but if you agree to wait till tomorrow, then we can fight with that not being an option. I won't go for knocking blows, and you get to experience a far more exciting match," Tsuna offered knowingly. Hibari might appreciate fighting Tsuna earlier, but that fight was not really satisfying for Hibari, which was why he was here again.

If Hibari could get a no-holds-barred match for simply waiting, he could do it. He would not be happy, but he could do it.

Hibari vibrated in place for a brief moment, a snarl on his lips as he glared at Tsuna before the tension bled out of him and he put his tonfa away and spun away with a click of his tongue. Not satisfied but willing to agree to Tsuna's terms for now.

Again, the room watched with awe at what was happening. Seeing Hibari leaving and Mochida watching all of this with a pale face, Tsuna felt a little mischievous.

"Wait, Hibari-senpai. That fight might have to wait; Mochida-senpai was about to challenge me to a fight. So I'm going to have to fight him first," Tsuna spoke out cheekily as he pointed at Mochida.

Hibari froze and mechanically turned toward Mochida with a deep frown on his face. Mochida changed from pale to chalk white.

"Wait, that's not," Mochida stuttered out, trying to get his ass out of this.

Seeing him try to talk his way out, Tsuna decided to pour gasoline on the fire.

"Oh, you could always challenge Mochida-senpai first. If you beat him, there is no point in him fighting me. That way, you get a fight today, and I get to see if Mochida-senpai is worth fighting. Everyone wins," Tsuna offered shamelessly. Now the awe that the room was feeling shifted into shock and pity directed at Mochida, who very much looked like he regretted even coming to school today.

Hibari frowned. He could see that Tsuna was using him, but he did want a fight right now, and while Mochida was trash, he was trash that was slightly above Hibari's usual punching bags.

"Herbivore, fight me," Hibari snarled out as he decided to play along.

Seeing that, Tsuna let out a mirth-filled laugh.

[Feat Achieved: Become known as The Demon Who Commands Demons throughout your school.]

[Received 1 Silver ticket.]

Seeing that, Tsuna's laugh turned even brighter.
