Chapter 13 - Interlude

[Interlude, unknown guy in an unknown location]

After finishing talking with the agent I appeared here.

My wish was to experience being the MC in my favorite manhwa, where dungeons start to appear alongside random people disappearances, one of which is the mc.

Then the mc spent an untold amount of time in another world and returned, only to be ranked as the lowest tier before slowly revealing how OP he is and in the end he was the main pillar of humanity.

A goated story, nothing quite like this exists, I don't need to read any more manhwas to prove otherwise.

The best part are the skills.

I got 6, all of which only boosted my capabilities.

In my wish granting area I became akin to a god, mastering combat, survival, leadership and most other abilities a druid and fighter combo class.

As for the skills, they're [weather magic], [runecraft], [space magic], [mind palace], [talisman magic] and [totem making], all of which only further boosted my range of skills.

But I appeared in a grassland.

My pack is gone, I am alone, I have only 5k magic and my stats don't even breach 40 except Int, which is 458, but its only there due to how much I know, still something to brag about.

But my first goal is to rebuild my pack.

I saw a pack of wolves nearby, I'll go tame them.

[some time later]

I determined that it's spring right now, not summer. I also befriended the pack I was with, though the problem remain, there was little rain and the nearby desert was sure to consume this place if nothing was done.

Thus I started to seriously practice my [totem making] skill.

Totems could have a bunch of different uses, mostly to buff or debuff, or set up barriers of some kind, from what I can understand, but now I focus on the 'buff' aspect of it, since I plan to regularly use weather magic to draw in some rain.

[some time later]

I've finished setting up the magic circle, the totems are in place, time for the first attempt at weather magic.

My meager 5k mana is not nearly enough for it, but my extensive preparation helped me overcome this pack. I'll suffer for this too, but my pack is important, they swore to protect me and bring me food too, so its ok.

Thus I began chanting, doing all sort of dances and saying all sorts of words, making hand symbols too since I didn't have any other catalyst except my body.

After 1 hour of doing that rain finally appeared, thus I call what I just did the rain dance, I'll for sure try to teach Barry, my best friend and the right hand of the pack's alpha that.

But the rain I called is too weak, it is but a drizzle, I must continue on getting stronger

[Some time later]

I barely dodged a swipe of the tail from the infant manticore.

Even if it is young, it is tough for the current lv10 me alone, but my pack is helping me keep its attention, constantly forcing it to pay attention to multiple targets.

After landing on the ground I saw the tail I dodge slam into a wolf, flinging it to the side and I turned furious.

"You fuck, now you shall pay for this"

I roared as I charged at it, channeling mana into my mana tattoos, activating the enchantments I engraved on myself, boosting my physical abilities beyond the norm for 5 minutes.

Once I reached the manticores tail, it launched a volley of venomous spines at me.

(A/N: Yes, spines. A manticore is a mythical beast of Persian mythology with the head of a human, body of a lion and a venomous scorpion-like/spiked tail. I don't know where the whole thing that they have a snake as the other body part came from. It's the Chimeras from Greek mythology that have a snake tail)

I didn't bother to dodge them as I felt most wound me in some way, some even going as far as being buried inside of me.

But I ignored the pain as I did my best to yank of its tail.

Tom sensed my intent and jumped to reach the tail and bit into it, making sure to do as much damage as possible with his claws.

The manticore sensed the pain and tried to fling us both away, but I didn't let go, even going as far as using earth magic to make my feet sink into the ground to hold it even more firmly.

Now that the manticore can't move as freely, the other healthy wolves charged, clawing at it's legs and wings.

The best hit definitely belongs to Sausage though, his claw landed straight on the face of the manticore, leaving a wound from the side of his eye to his jawline, finally making its human-like face look more fitting for a monster.

The manticore, now knowing I'm the source of his current problem, abandoned defending to some degree to turn to me and try to claw away at my arms to make me let go, but I didn't

I reinforced my body with even more mana, so much so that his claws and fangs left but scratches on me, but I can't keep this up.

My fingers feel like they're on fire and the mana consumption is too much, I have less than a minute left.

I looked straight in the eyes of the monster and I smiled, that minute will be enough.

Thus I gathered my strength to further pull it's tail to me, making it slightly falter it's balance.

That was enough to make it fall, so it tried to fall away, but the wolves damaged wings enough to make it impossible to make him fly.

Seeing its approaching doom the manticore decide to do one last push, since it saw that it can't beat us, it will drag us down, but I won't let that happen.

Seeing as the wounds on his legs are too much for it to do much movement, I let go of it's tail and went on it's bag.

The manticore rolled over to protect it's head once it felt me land on its back and feeling my hand on its head, but that was its mistake, since my goal from the star was his belly.

I drew my stone dagger and started thrusting and thrusting into its inside till I saw the manticore die from blood loss and I stopped.

I straightened out as I canceled out all my enhancements and fell to the ground as my legs gave out.

One wolf approached me with worry in it's eyes.

I petted it and rubbed my face against it, spreading my intent that I will be okay and I currently want to be left alone to recover in piece.

And the wolf licked my face and left me lying on the ground as it joined in the eating of the manticore.

I slowly started to heal myself using mana, gently pushing out the poisonous spines, guiding the poison into on of my wounds where it left my body and seeped into the ground.

After a while, I stood and saw that they left me some meat, mostly scraps, but the sum of the all was enough for me.

So I picked up some, cooked it and ate it.

I want to join them in eating the meat raw, but I'm still not fully recovered and I need to get used to the fact that I am no longer the king of animals.

I looked at the sky, once again, there was the occasional clouds, but no rain, guess I'll have to do another ritual.

*Sigh*

This makes it official, I'm doing weather magic once a week and worst of all I don't know if it is making rain out of nowhere or dragging it from another region, if only Min Ji was with me, she's the expert of magic.

But… once again, a sight escaped my lips…

She is but a character in the story I occupied for my wish to be granted.

I remember her talking about all sorts of magic types, their traits, how they work and so on, but back then I was only focused on hunting and trying to make Seoung Hee mate with me.

Oh how I miss her fierceness, her temper would've been perfect as the godmother of my pack.

[Some time later]

It is the middle of the summer, since I have grown more proficient in weather, I now know that I don't have enough mana to summon rain from nowhere, so I was always dragging rainclouds here by force.

This means certain regions must be drying and the temperature must be getting hotter there.

If I every find such places that suffered from my selfishness, I will apologize to the land and the animals that live there with all my heart.

I shall repent when the time comes, but where I live is my and my pack's territory, and I refuse to see it suffer.
