Chapter 2 - THE GREAT SCHOOL DAY MYSTERY OF RAVI & THE TINY WHISTLE

Ravi was the kind of boy who could lose a pen even if it was in his own hand. His best friend, Meera, once said,

"Ravi, if you ever become a detective, the only mystery you'll solve is where you lost your shoes."

But today… Ravi felt different.

Today… destiny called him.

Today… he found a tiny whistle.

It happened during the morning assembly. While everyone stood straight, singing the school anthem, Ravi's attention drifted. A shiny object near his shoe caught his eye. He bent down, picked it up, and whispered dramatically:

"A clue!"

Meera rolled her eyes. "It's just a whistle."

Ravi grinned. "Nothing is just anything. This is a sign. Today, I become… Detective Ravi."

Meera sighed. "God help us."

CHAPTER 1: OPERATION WHISTLE

Ravi blew the whistle.

PPHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Everyone turned.

The Principal looked like she might explode.

"WHO BLEW THAT WHISTLE!?" she yelled.

Ravi immediately pointed at Meera.

Meera immediately kicked Ravi.

The Principal sighed and continued assembly, but Ravi felt powerful. He decided he must discover who the whistle originally belonged to.

"Meera," he whispered, "we have a mission."

"You have a mission," Meera corrected. "I have regrets."

CHAPTER 2: SUSPECT LIST

In the classroom, Ravi made a list titled:

Possible Criminal Whistle Owners:

Class monitor

PT sir

Ghost (Meera scratched this out immediately)

That kid who always carries a lunchbox bigger than his future

Ravi marched around interrogating people with a fake moustache drawn using marker.

First, he questioned the class monitor.

"Did you lose a whistle?"

"What whistle?"

"That means yes," Ravi whispered dramatically, writing something suspiciously on his notebook.

The monitor stared. "Are you okay?"

Next, Ravi questioned PT sir.

Ravi: "Sir, is this your whistle?"

PT Sir: "No."

Ravi: "Are you sure?"

PT Sir: "Yes!"

Ravi: "Are you very sure?"

PT Sir: "RAVI, DO YOU WANT EXTRA RUNNING LAPS!?"

Ravi: "Okay thank you sir."

CHAPTER 3: THE LUNCHBOX GIANT

The last suspect was Ajay—the boy whose lunchbox was so huge that rumors said it had its own PIN code.

Ravi sneaked toward Ajay.

Meera followed unwillingly.

Ravi whispered, "We must check his lunchbox."

Meera whispered back, "We must check your brain."

But Ravi was determined. When Ajay opened his gigantic lunchbox, Ravi peeped inside, expecting secret gadgets or hidden treasures.

Instead, he saw…

Six chapatis.

Three sabzis.

One full box of sweets.

A mini container of chutney.

A backup chutney.

And emergency extra chutney.

Ravi gasped. "He's a professional!"

But there was no whistle. Ajay looked at them suspiciously.

"You want some food?"

Ravi: "Yes."

Meera: "No."

Ravi: "Yes."

Meera: "NO!"

Ajay shrugged and gave them a sweet anyway.

Ravi ate it and forgot why he had come there.

CHAPTER 4: THE TRUTH BLOWS OUT

After lunch, Ravi blew the whistle again to "help his brain think."

PPHHOOOOOOO!

This time the sports teacher, Lakshmi Madam, turned around sharply.

"That's my lost whistle!"

Ravi froze.

Meera froze.

Even the wind froze.

Madam grabbed the whistle.

"I was searching everywhere! Where did you find it?"

Ravi proudly said, "On the ground during assembly!"

Madam smiled and said, "Good job returning it. You should learn responsibility."

Meera whispered, "Irony has died today."

But just as they were about to leave, Madam added,

"As a reward… Ravi, you will help me organize the sports room after school."

Ravi's face turned pale.

The sports room was basically a jungle of footballs, cricket bats, skipping ropes, and that one basketball that always hits your head from nowhere.

Meera tried not to laugh.

Ravi groaned.

Destiny had played him.

CHAPTER 5: DETECTIVE RETIRES

After school, Ravi sat tired on the bench, sweat dripping, clothes dusty from organizing the sports room.

Meera walked up to him.

"So, Detective Ravi… solved the mystery. How do you feel?"

Ravi sighed dramatically.

"I think it's time I retire from detective work."

Meera nodded. "Good decision."

Ravi added, "Next, I shall become—"

Meera: "NO."

Ravi: "—a magician!"

Meera: "I'm transferring schools."

Ravi got up, slipped on a football, and fell.

Meera shook her head. "Yes. Definitely transferring."

Ravi groaned from the ground.

"Detective… down."

And thus ended the legendary, extremely short-lived career of Detective Ravi and his Tiny Whistle.
