"A light and dark version of a key player," Eira said, eyes on Kaden. "One will tip the scales."
Arin landed beside Kaden. "You mean Kaden?"
Eira nodded. "Your choices create echoes. A shadow Kaden exists—born from your doubts."
Kaden's mind spun. "Where is he?"
Eira handed Kaden a map. "The Fringe—a realm of reflections. But be warned: facing him will reveal your greatest fear."
Lara gripped Kaden's arm. "We go with you."
The group entered the Fringe—a maze of mirrors, reflections stretching endlessly. A figure emerged—a dark mirror of Kaden.
"You'd fail," Shadow Kaden sneered. "You trust too much."
Kaden drew his sword. "I'm not you."
The battle raged—identical moves, opposite intent. Light clashed with darkness.
As they fought, visions assaulted Kaden: his parents' deaths, friends lost, Elysium burning...
