Grey Hollow town was built beside a river no one truly looked at.
People crossed it. Lived near it. Fished from it.
But never stared into it.
Rafi's new house stood closest to the riverbank. At night, the Water looked black-not reflecting the moon, not reflecting the sky.
Just black.
On their first evening, Rafi noticed something strange.
The river had no sound.
No insects.
No frogs.
No wind.
