Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Scavenger’s Teeth

The rain in the Lower District of Roark didn't wash things clean; it just turned the grime into a slick, suffocating sludge. Kaelen Thorne spat a mouthful of blood into the gutter, leaning against a rusted pipe. He was nineteen, built like a whip—thin, corded muscle and scarred knuckles.

At his feet, three rival scavengers lay groaning. They had tried to take his haul: a crate of illegal medical stims he'd pinched from a merchant's carriage.

"You're dead, Thorne," one hissed, clutching a broken rib. "The Black Dogs own this street. They'll hang your skin from the gates."

Kaelen didn't yell. He didn't even look angry. He knelt, grabbing the man's hair and slamming his head once, hard, against the pavement. Silence followed.

"The Black Dogs own the street," Kaelen whispered to the remaining two. "But I own the air you're breathing right now. Run. Tell your boss I'm coming for his chair. Not because I want it—but because he's too weak to keep it."

He didn't look back. He had a crate to sell and a kingdom to build.

The First Disciple

Kaelen didn't work alone for long. He knew that a lone wolf is just a target. He set up shop in a derelict clock tower. His first recruit was Jax, a disgraced pit-fighter with a massive frame and a broken spirit.

"Why should I follow a kid like you?" Jax growled, eyeing Kaelen's small stature.

"Because I have a plan to get us out of the mud," Kaelen said, tossing him a bag of gold—more than Jax had seen in a year. "And because I'll never ask you to do something I wouldn't do myself. But if you lie to me, or if you hesitate when I give an order, I'll kill you where you stand."

Jax saw the void in Kaelen's eyes. It wasn't cruelty; it was a total lack of fear. He knelt. The gang, The Iron Vultures, was born.

The Cold Flame (The First Encounter)

As Kaelen's influence grew, he caught the eye of the "High Town" elite. Lirael, the daughter of a corrupt Trade Baron, found herself fascinated by the rumors of the "Demon of the Lower District."

During a tense negotiation in a back-alley gambling den, Lirael watched Kaelen handle a group of assassins with terrifying efficiency. He didn't use flashy magic; he used a combat knife and the environment, moving like a shadow.

After the fight, she approached him, her silk dress wildly out of place in the filth.

"You're a brute," she said, her voice trembling slightly—not with fear, but with excitement. "But my father needs someone with your... lack of conscience. Come work for us. I can give you everything."

Kaelen wiped his blade on a fallen man's shirt. He walked up to her, invading her personal space until she was backed against the wall. He didn't touch her, but his presence was overwhelming.

"I don't work for Barons, Lirael," he said, his voice a low vibration. "I'll take what your father has, and then I'll decide what to do with you. If you want to be near me, learn to follow. I don't negotiate with pretty faces."

Lirael, used to men fawning over her, felt a jolt of genuine submission. She didn't want a suitor; she wanted a master.

The Harem of Power (The Dominator's Circle)

Kaelen's "girls" aren't just romantic interests; they are extensions of his will:

* Mila (The Shadow): A master assassin who tried to kill him. He defeated her but spared her life on the condition of absolute servitude. She is now his most loyal blade.

* Sera (The Strategist): A fallen noblewoman with a genius intellect. She handles the finances. She loves his ruthlessness because it provides the order her life lacked.

* Lirael (The Spy): Using her high-society connections to feed him information. She lives for the moments he acknowledges her success.

The story is just beginning. Kaelen is no longer a thug; he is a warlord in a suit. He is currently eyeing the Throne itself, believing the current King is too "kind" to lead a world of wolves.
