Chapter 7 - A Crisp

As Jessy Lin was still trying to get back his mind from the recent events, two figures were quietly planning, scheming how to capture him and make full use of his body.

But what they would do with it, no one knew for sure. That was a secret only they knew, apart from the one who sent them to do what they were doing at that time.

Slowly, as they approached him, rounding a corner that had been separating them he heard their footsteps and strengthened his grip on the pipe, clenching his fist so hard the nails dug into his flesh.

The supposed victims who had come with one goal in mind, to collect the body, were about to be killed, but no one had come for their bodies this time. The prey had broken free and the roles had been reversed, but it was more dangerous because only one party was aware of the recent developments. The others were literally in the dark, approaching, smug sickening grins fixed tightly on their faces.

The steps kept getting closer, each taking what seemed like a second less than the other. They were visibly excited, ready to commit the heinous crime. But in this space, no one would ever know. And so what if they knew. You can't just go around arresting the grim reaper, it's just not possible.

'One more step and I'll help you meet your maker.'

He backed up into the wall, pressing his ears firmly I to it so that he can hear what was going on in the other side. It was very important that he knew when they would arrive so he could clobber them at the exact moment when resistance was almost zero.

Thus was the power of being prepared. Whatever you faced, if you were prepared and the other party wasn't, it was a guaranteed win, in the bag.

Step by step, inching closer to their deaths, they approached. A head unknowingly poked from the corner, still wearing a smug look on it's face, almost drewling. It was a devilish sight to behold. Never let your children look at a face like this one. They'll be traumatized for life. It is not a good face.

At that very moment, a steel pipe, shattered on one of it's ends, swiftly flew through the air in a perfect arc, seeking for a soft fleshy target to leave it's mark on. The aim proved to be accurate. Too accurate. It not only found it's mark, it left a huge dent in the face.

The sounds were tow, first was squishy sound, one you'll normally hear when you press into a plushy with killing intent. The second however was darker, it was a crunching sound, one that indicated a skull was being crushed. It was crisp and loud, weirdly satisfying to hear.
