Hina and her helpful hamster, Hugo, had heard hundreds of hilarious rumors about it.
"Haunted!" whispered her friends.
"Hopelessly empty!" said her brother.
But Hina had a heroic heart — she had to hunt the truth.
Holding her hat tightly, she hurried up the hill.
The heavy wooden handle creaked as she pushed the door.
Hooooo…
A hollow howl echoed inside the hallway.
Hugo hid in her hoodie.
Inside, hanging from hooks were hats — hundreds of them!
Hard hats, hunter hats, holiday hats, even a hat shaped like a hamburger.
Suddenly — HELLO!
A happy old man hopped down the stairs.
"I'm Hari the hat-maker," he laughed.
"I hide here to work in peace. People hear my hammering and imagine horror!"
He handed Hina a honey-colored hat.
"This hat helps honest hearts," he said.
Hina headed home, humming happily.
The house wasn't haunted — it was heartwarming.
And from that day on, the hill was no longer called Horror Hill…
It became Happy Hill.
