After class, Leila suggested a quiet walk through the city streets. The golden streetlights reflected off the wet pavement from the earlier rain. Amina's hand brushed against Leila's. Neither pulled away.
"You're quiet tonight," Leila said softly, her thumb brushing over Amina's knuckles.
"I… I just don't want this night to end," Amina admitted. Her voice trembled, but her heart felt light. Leila smiled knowingly, squeezing her hand. "Then let's make it last a little longer."
