In a village lived a kind grandmother. She had a small mud hut, but her heart was very big. Every afternoon, the village children came to her to listen to stories. She gave them puffed rice and jaggery made with her own hands and told them wonderful stories.
One day, the village pond dried up. Everyone became worried. Grandmother said, "Let us all work together." She started cleaning the pond with the children. The elders felt ashamed and joined the work too. After a few days of hard work, the pond became deep again.
A few days later, rain fell and the pond filled with clear, sparkling water. The village was saved. Everyone thanked the grandmother. She simply smiled and said, "When we work together, even difficult tasks become easy."
From that day on, the villagers remembered her words and learned to help one another.
