Jungkook~
I hurriedly head to the Quidditch field, broom slung over my shoulder. It's practice day, and let's be honest—of course, the cool guy has to be on the Quidditch team, right? My dad, a Quidditch legend himself, would probably disown me if I didn't at least try. He sent my broom just a few days ago, and yeah, it's sleek, fast, and absolutely perfect. The kind of broom that practically screams, Jungkook Jeon means business.
First practice is brutal. Our captain has us running drills like we're prepping for the World Cup, but I don't mind. Flying feels like freedom, and even though my arms are burning from gripping the broom, I can't help but grin every time I dive through the air. This is my thing. I want to make Dad proud and maybe even carve out my own legacy in the process.
After an hour of pushing ourselves to the limit, we finally wrap up and head to the gym hall. It's where all the Quidditch players hang out after practice—some grab snacks, others just collapse into chairs and complain about how sore they are. I decide to hit the showers first, washing off the sweat and grime before joining my teammates.
When I walk over to the table where my group is gathered, Taehyung's already halfway through a plate of fries. He's a Hufflepuff, and if Hogwarts had a "Most Charming Guy" award, he'd win it without breaking a sweat. The girls are obsessed with him—and honestly, I don't blame them.
"How's Hogwarts treating you so far, Kook?" Taehyung asks, his boxy smile lighting up his face.
"Good, hyung. It's better than I thought it'd be," I reply, slumping onto the couch and stretching out like a starfish.
Before I can elaborate, Jimin—our resident Slytherin and professional pain in the ass—smirks at me from across the table. "Your girlfriend helping you settle in?" he teases, that mischievous glint in his eyes practically glowing.
I groan, already knowing where this is going. "How many times do I have to tell you, hyung? She's my best friend since a baby."
"Yeah, yeah," Jimin drawls, leaning back in his chair. "So, when are you gonna introduce her to us?"
"Soon," I mutter, flipping him off as I get to my feet. I'm not sticking around for this nonsense.
Jimin's laugh echoes behind me as I leave the gym hall, his voice dripping with mockery. "Kook's still being an overprotective ass even over those years!"
Okay, so maybe he's not entirely wrong. It's not that I don't want Y/N to meet my friends—it's just... Taehyung and Jimin? They're a lot. I've known them for four years now since our parents are doing business together, and I love them like brothers, but they're also the type to flirt with anything that breathes. Introducing them to Y/N feels like tossing her to the wolves.
It's not jealousy. I mean, why would I be jealous? Y/N's my best friend, my Minx. She's been part of my life since forever, and she's seen me at my absolute worst—like that time I got chickenpox and cried because my mom made me wear mittens so I wouldn't scratch my face.
Yeah, she still brings that up.
But still, I can't shake the protective instinct. I know Taehyung and Jimin will eventually meet her, and it'll be fine. Probably. Maybe. I just need to make sure Y/N's ready for the chaos that is those two.
As much as I wanted, I couldn't keep her forever away from them. They were meant to be met soon or later wether I liked it or not.
As I head back to the Ravenclaw dorms, I remind myself that Y/N always comes first. Always. If she wants to finally meet my friends, great. If not, no big deal. I'd choose her over them any day, and I don't care if they give me crap for it.
When I reach our shared dorm room, the door's slightly ajar, and I peek inside to find Y/N sitting cross-legged on the floor, surrounded by her textbooks. She's muttering to herself, probably practicing some spell or another, and it's honestly adorable.
"Hey, Minx," I say, stepping inside and tossing my broom onto the bed.
She glances up, a smile breaking across her face. "Hey, Jake. How was practice?"
"Tiring, but worth it" I admit, plopping down beside her. "You really need to stop calling me names like that."
She looks at me with raise eyebrow, "Excuse me? Jake is really cool name. Like Jacob Black from twilight, he's such a bae."
"Oh my god.." I groan, leaning back on my hands. "Please spare me with your twilight addiction."
"Oh, shut up! You liked that Victoria girl."
And just like that, everything feels right again. Jimin and Taehyung can wait. For now, it's just me and Y/N, like always. My best friend, my constant partner in crime. Hogwarts might be full of surprises, but some things never change—and I wouldn't have it any other way.
