Chapter Five Part Two
Then Shangdi asked again:
"Zheng Wen Te."
"You are my last prophet."
"Do you regret it?"
Zheng Wen Te's voice was broken.
"…I never wanted this."
Shangdi's reply was immediate.
"This is what you wanted from the beginning."
"You wanted release."
"You wanted the world to notice your suffering."
"And now…"
The heavens darkened slightly.
"…the world watches."
Shangdi lifted his hand again.
Light gathered.
Another memory prepared to unfold.
The giants stood motionless.
The orb of sealed myths pulsed faintly.
The Protector's eyes burned behind the prison of Heaven.
And humanity felt it—
the next scene would not be warmth.
It would not be ordinary.
It would be something older.
Something deeper.
Something that explained why Earth had restarted again and again.
Shangdi's voice echoed like the closing of a gate:
"Scene Two…"
"…The First Apocalypse."
And the sky began to bleed light once more.
