Hana's eyes filled instantly.
Gemmy shook her head.
"That's not the real reason."
Then she looked at Joon-woo.
"You think I cancelled the engagement because you didn't love me."
He swallowed hard.
"That's also not the real reason."
Silence wrapped the entire studio.
Gemmy's voice trembled slightly… but she continued.
"I left… because I realized something terrifying."
A breath.
"If I stayed… all three of us would destroy each other."
She looked between them.
"You loved each other… but were too afraid to admit it."
"You hurt each other… but never truly let go."
"And I…"
Her voice broke softly.
"I stood in the middle… pretending love could be forced."
A tear slid down her cheek.
"I didn't leave because I lost."
She shook her head slowly.
"I left because I refused to be the reason two people buried their real feelings forever."
Hana covered her mouth… crying silently.
Joon-woo looked stunned.
Gemmy smiled sadly.
"I thought… if I disappeared… time would make you brave."
A pause.
"…But you both just suffered longer."
She turned to Hana fully now.
Her voice gentle… but firm.
"Tell me the truth. Right now."
Hana's breathing became uneven.
"Do you love him… even after everything?"
Silence.
Long.
Painful.
Honest.
Hana closed her eyes.
And finally… after years of denial… fear… guilt…
She whispered—
"…Yes."
The word shattered every remaining wall.
Joon-woo's eyes filled instantly.
Gemmy exhaled slowly… like she had been holding that breath for years.
But she wasn't finished.
She turned to Joon-woo.
"And you?"
His answer came instantly.
"Yes."

Gemmy smiled through tears.
"Good."

"Then stop hurting each other… and live honestly."
Everyone thought that was the end.

"Well… that would've been a beautiful ending."
All heads turned.
Nick stood at the entrance.
Calm. Serious. Different.
Like he had carried something heavy for years.
Hana's heart jumped.
"…Nick?"
He walked slowly toward the stage.
His gaze steady… but emotional.
"I guess it's finally time I say what I should've said long ago."
He looked at Joon-woo.
"Do you remember the day Hana confessed to me at the camp?"
Joon-woo stiffened.
"…Yes."
Nick nodded slowly.
"She asked me to date her."
A pause.
"And I refused."
Hana looked confused.
"You said… you didn't want to be second choice…"
Nick smiled faintly.
"That was true."
Then his expression turned serious.
"But that wasn't the only reason."
Silence tightened.
Nick took a breath.
"Earlier that same day… before she came to me…"
He looked directly at Joon-woo.
"…you came to me first."
The world stopped.
Hana's eyes widened.
Gemmy froze.
Joon-woo's face lost color.
Nick continued quietly.
"You asked me something."
He swallowed.
"You said…"
His voice softened.
"'If she tries to move on… help her… protect her… because I don't deserve her.'"
Hana's tears stopped mid-fall.
Her voice trembled.
"…What?"
Nick looked at her gently.
"He believed choosing Gemmy was the right thing."
"He thought loving you would only hurt you more."
"So he asked me… to be someone who could give you peace."
The studio was completely silent.
No one breathing.
No one moving.
Nick's voice lowered.
"I didn't reject you because I didn't care."
His eyes softened deeply.
"I rejected you because… you were never truly free."
A pause.
"You were still loving him… even when you tried to love me."
Hana's legs almost gave out.

She looked at Joon-woo.
"…You… pushed me away… on purpose…?"
His eyes were full of pain.
"…I thought loving you meant letting you go."
Her tears poured harder than ever before.

Built on love… misunderstood as rejection.
Gemmy covered her mouth… crying quietly.

Nick nodded softly.
"And ended up hurting everyone instead."
