Chapter 2 - chapter 2

After class ended, Joon-woo's phone suddenly rang.

It was Gemmy's father.

He answered calmly.

"Joon-woo," her father said gently, "Gemmy wants to meet you. She told us she accepts your family's proposal."

Joon-woo frowned slightly. "But… she rejected my family's proposal earlier."

There was a short pause.

"Yes… because she wasn't there that day," her father explained. "You met the wrong girl. That was her friend. We didn't know the misunderstanding before, but Gemmy told us everything now."

Joon-woo stayed silent for a moment… then replied firmly,

"Okay… but I'm not interested in this relationship anymore. It's over."

Without another word, they ended the call.

The next day, Joon-woo quietly took out a bottle of glue.

When no one was watching, he spread some on Hana's chair. Then he placed a pair of pants under the desk… just in case… and walked out of the classroom like nothing happened.

Later, everyone returned.

Hana sat down normally.

But when class ended and she tried to stand… she couldn't move.

Her chair was stuck.

Her face turned red with anger.

Slowly, she looked at Joon-woo. Her eyes burned with fury.

He only smirked.

Two days later… Hana did the same thing to him.

And that became their routine.

Pranks. Revenge. Silent battles.

During college hours, they never missed a chance to annoy each other.

Even in exams, they competed fiercely.

Sometimes she ranked first.

Sometimes he did.

Neither wanted to lose.

One day, Gemmy asked Hana quietly,

"Why do you do this to him? Why do you hate him so much?"

Hana crossed her arms.

"Because he always starts it."

Soon, exams ended.

It was their final college trip — almost like a farewell.

The class planned a seaside camping trip.

To make things fun, the class president organized random seat partners. Everyone drew chits to decide who would sit with whom.

The next morning, they boarded the bus.

Hana chose a seat near the back — second from the last.

After a while, Joon-woo entered. His seat partner was Gemmy… not originally, but she had exchanged seats with someone else.

Hana's partner was Nick.

He wasn't very active in class, but he was brilliant in studies. Known as the college "bad boy," yet strangely polite when he wanted to be.

He sat beside Hana casually.

"Got chocolates?" he asked with a lazy grin.

She rolled her eyes… but gave him some.

While eating, she glanced toward Joon-woo.

Something twisted in her chest.

Jealousy.

Soon, Hana and Nick started playing games, laughing loudly, talking freely. She opened up in a way she never did before. Nick was surprisingly kind… relaxed… easy to be around.

Joon-woo noticed.

He felt something sharp inside his chest.

Jealousy.

But he ignored it and looked away.

When they reached the campsite, everyone started setting up tents. Nick helped Hana without being asked.

She smiled.

Joon-woo saw that too.

Later, without warning, Joon-woo walked straight to Hana, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her away from the camp.

Before she could react—

He kissed her.

Her eyes widened in shock.

When she realized what happened, she pushed him hard.

"What are you doing?!" she shouted.

Joon-woo looked shaken. "I… I'm sorry. I didn't mean to—"

"Then what DID you mean?!" she snapped. "Is this another one of your bullying tricks?!"

"No… it's not like that—"

"I know you," she said coldly. "Stay away from me from now on."

But the truth in her heart was different.

She knew Gemmy liked him.

And Gemmy was precious to her.

So she stepped back… turned… and ran away.

Leaving Joon-woo standing alone.
