Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 Ruthless

Half a month passed in the blink of an eye.

Acnologia led ten dragon-slaying squads, totaling two hundred people, to the Kingdom of Philos.

As for Eileen, she was worried that her people would see her in her dragon form, so she chose to let Acnologia handle domestic affairs.

She went to the mountains and forests, and returned only after she had fully transformed into a dragon and learned the magic of human transformation.

Guided by the guards, Acnologia and the others made their way to the royal palace, where twenty-four kings were already seated and waiting.

It must be said that in times of war and strife, there were quite a few kingdoms, large and small, some of which had a population of one million.

"Who are you? Which kingdom are you from?"

A bald king frowned and asked, the person before him giving him an extremely dangerous feeling. Which king had this power?

The First Dragon Slayer General immediately stepped forward, his gaze icy, and loudly rebuked, "How dare you! Who do you think you are, to question Lord Acnologia!"

Upon hearing this, most of the kings were so frightened that they stood up. The person in front of them was the pinnacle of dragon-slaying mages, the legendary monster who could slay dragons as easily as slaughtering pigs.

The bald king was startled and immediately bowed, saying, "My apologies, Lord Acnologia, please have a seat!"

Acnologia nodded slightly, his gaze sweeping over the faces of the kings. Some were nervous, some were fearful, most were uneasy because of his infamy, and two or three had cold and unruly expressions.

However, he didn't mind, since he wasn't there to make friends.

"This spot is mine!"

Acnologia strode up behind a cold-faced king, grabbed him by the back of his collar, tossed him aside, and then slowly sat down.

You lowly nobody dares to act all high and mighty in front of me? You should take a piss and see if you're even worthy.

The king, his face flushed with anger, struggled to his feet and roared, "Acnologia, you are not yet a king and have no right to sit here. Let your queen, Irene, come!"

Acnologia raised an eyebrow, "Quite courageous," he said, glancing at the other kings. "Anyone who shares this scoundrel's thoughts, step forward."

The bald king, seemingly worried that he had offended Acnologia a little, took the lead in siding with him: "Let's see who dares. If Lord Acnologia can't sit here, then our alliance should just disband as soon as possible. There's no need to say anything more."

"What are you talking about? Who said Lord Acnologia can't sit here? This is clearly King Oro's idea."

"If you ask me, King Oro is too arrogant. He should be kicked out. We don't need people like him who are detrimental to unity. He will definitely hold us back if war breaks out."

"You're right! I agree!"

"I agree!"

...

Seeing the kings express their opinions, Acunorokia showed a satisfied expression, indicating that he was quite perceptive.

King Auro couldn't believe it. His kingdom was a medium-sized kingdom with thousands of Dragon Slayer Mages. How dare they kick him out?

Just for a mere Acnologia?

Seeing the shameless groveling of those kings, he was filled with rage; these bastards were no hope for him.

King Auro suddenly turned to King Philos, who had not yet spoken, and coldly questioned, "As the king who initiated the alliance, do you also think Acnologia is more important than me? Think carefully, I have a thousand Dragon Slayer Mages standing behind me!"

King Philos was speechless. He really thought Acnologia was more important than King Oro. After all, Acnologia alone had killed more dragons than the entire human race combined. Did he even need to think about the choice?

But he was the initiator of the alliance, so saying that would be tantamount to handing over command to Acnologia. Everyone else could fawn over him, but he couldn't.

"Please don't be angry, everyone. King Oro was just blinded by anger and spoke without thinking. Please bear with him."

He looked at King Oro and advised, "Hurry up and apologize to Lord Acnologia. Even if Acnologia is not the king, he is still our human race's dragon-slaying hero and is fully qualified to sit here!"

I've given you a way out; now it's up to you whether you take it or not.

The result, of course, was that they stopped playing!

Without a second thought, King Oro, enraged, pointed at the crowd and roared, "It's either him or me today! Since you've chosen Acnologia, I'm withdrawing from this alliance. Let's see if you can win this war!"

Having said that, he called his guards and turned to leave.

"Who gave you permission to leave?"

A cold voice rang out.

boom!

A terrifying pressure suddenly descended, distorting the space within the palace. Dark magical energy surged, making it difficult to see anything clearly.

King Oro and his guards were instantly pinned to the ground, their faces filled with terror, unable to move even a finger.

What is this magic power?

Everyone looked terrified, their hearts filled with disbelief; this level of magic was simply astonishing.

Although I had anticipated that Acnologia would be powerful, I did not expect it to be this powerful.

"You've got some nerve, talking on and on for so long!"

Acnologia's eyes flashed with a cold light as he looked at the tense kings: "Since he doesn't want to participate in the war, there's no need for such a useless thing to exist. Let's use him as a sacrifice and let everyone know the consequences of the rebel alliance!"

What do you think?

As soon as he finished speaking, the bald king immediately declared, "Lord Acnologia is right. All of this is for the sake of victory in the war. King Oro clearly harbors resentment towards us. If we send him back, he might betray us!"

It must be said that the bald king was quite eloquent. Acnologia originally wanted to establish his authority and vent his anger, but in his mouth, it became about the human race and the victory in the war.

The other kings thought he was right, but King Oro was clearly resentful and might actually betray them. So why keep him around?

"I agree, all of this is for the sake of victory in the war!"

Seeing the various kings express their opinions, the Kingdom of Philos sighed inwardly, realizing that there was no other way to change the situation.

He then added, "I agree too!"

"Lord Acnologia, please withdraw your magic. I will imprison King Auro and use him as a sacrifice when the war begins!"

Acnologia nodded: "Do as you say, Number One. Cut out his tongue first. I don't want to hear his voice again."

"Yes, Lord Acnologia!"

The number one dragon slayer strode over, roughly grabbed King Oro's hair, and, to his horrified surprise, pulled out a dagger and plunged it into his mouth, severing his tongue.

"Consider yourself lucky, I'll let you live a few more days!"

His eyes were sinister; he had long been displeased that someone dared to disrespect Lord Acnologia.

Seeing King Auro's miserable state, the other kings couldn't bear to look and turned their heads away. The Kingdom of Philos couldn't help but wonder whether it was right or wrong to include Acnologia in the human race's fighting force.

This is a ruthless and lawless individual, absolutely beyond his control.
