Chapter 1 - Shadow of the Black Mansion

It was a rainy night. The clouds in the sky were thundering as if some old secret was about to be revealed. The road was almost empty, only here and there flickering streetlights were trying to cut the darkness a little.

Kabir was riding his bike slowly and had to pass through this road. This was the shortest route to reach the city.As he turned the corner, he saw an old, dilapidated mansion. People called it the "Black Mansion."

As a child, he had heard stories about this place – that it heard cries at night…

that someone was seen standing in the window…

and that whoever went in never came back the same.

Kabir shook his head. "This is nonsense," he said to himself.

Then suddenly the bike stopped.

"What, man!" He tried to start it several times, but the engine gave up.

The rain had become heavy. There was no house or shop nearby.Just the same haveli

He stood there for a while, then forced to park his bike on the side and ran into the veranda of Haveli.

The door was half open.Like someone was waiting for him. Kabir gently pushed the door - "Creek".

Scared me, as soon as I opened it, a gust of foul smelling air came in. It was very dark inside. Turning on the mobile flashlight, he looked around – furniture covered in dust, tatters on the walls, and old papers scattered on the floor. "Just let the rain stop... then I'll leave."He sat on a broken chair After a few minutes, cut... cut... cut... cut... the sound of someone walking came from above. Kabir's heart started beating fast. "Is anyone else here?"He thought to himself – maybe it is a cat.But the sound came again – slow… heavy… like human footsteps. He gathered courage, turned the torch towards the stairs and slowly started climbing up. As soon as we reached upstairs, the cold suddenly increased and steam started coming out of my breath. There were many rooms in the corridor, all of them closed.Only the door of the last room was open and a faint light was coming from there. Kabir opened the door.
