Chapter 164 - Chapter 164: Bargaining

"Hey, there are five boxes of instant noodles, is that enough?" The bearded man's eyes lit up as he turned to a bald middle-aged man beside him and whispered, adding, "Their guns are all the real deal, but nine times out of ten, they just got lucky picking them up. A bunch of total rookies!"

"I can see it too, that little girl doesn't even have her magazine inserted!" The bald man nodded excitedly.

"Then I agree to them!" said the big-bearded man.

"Wait a minute, even though there are five boxes, with so many of us, we'll finish them in two or three days!" The bald man, dressed in a wrinkled shirt and slacks, with a pair of frameless glasses missing a leg perched on his nose, held a well-maintained AK47 in his hand. After thinking for a moment, he said to the bearded man, "These little bitches are all well-groomed and dressed like models, so they definitely won't skimp on food. Ask for a bit more, at least twenty boxes of instant noodles!"

"Hey, Lao Lu, why are you only thinking about instant noodles? Would it kill you to get some hot dogs?" A beautiful young woman, who was kneeling at the back of the car, turned her head upon hearing this. She was wearing a tight-fitting dress that looked quite worn out upon closer inspection, but in her hand, she held a U.S.-made M4 carbine that was completely at odds with her appearance. The gun was equipped not only with a tactical flashlight but also with a high-magnification scope. Moreover, her posture while holding the gun was clearly much more standard than that of the others; she held it steadily with both hands, one in front and one in the back, with the gun stock firmly pressed against her shoulder.

"Yes, Yalan is right. These women probably picked up the guns from somewhere and most likely don't even know how to use them. We should take this opportunity to get a bit more. Guodong, see if they have any ham sausages. Oh, I'm so tempted!" said the bald man, Lao Lu, as he couldn't help but wipe the drool from the corner of his mouth.

"Brother-in-law, ask them if they have any canned fruit, I want to eat that!" A girl, who was closely leaning against the young woman Yalan, also turned her head. She was wearing a white baseball cap and had a straight ponytail. A black tight-fitting T-shirt accentuated her prominent chest. Not only was the girl sweet-looking, but she was also holding a terrifying Russian-made black SVD sniper rifle. After speaking, she half-lay back down in the car, squinting her left eye as she continued to observe the situation in the yard through the scope.

"Hey, do you think this is a supermarket? You can just get whatever you want? It's already good enough if we can get some instant noodles!" The bearded man looked a bit frustrated at the greedy people around him, then glanced at some of his companions by the business vehicle. Seeing their tactical movements, which were as standard as a special forces team, he seemed to gain some confidence. He poked his head out of the car and shouted, "Do you think we're just handing out food to beggars? Five boxes won't do; we need at least twenty boxes, and bring a few boxes of ham sausages too, and some canned fruit, give us a bit of that as well!"

"How do they know we have canned fruit?" Bai Ru looked at Cao Mei with curiosity. Seeing Cao Mei shake her head in confusion, she asked, "So should we give it to them or not?"

Caomei was also very hesitant; this was not her strong suit at all. She could only grit her teeth and say, "There isn't much I want... so just give it to me!"

"You all wait, we'll go get it for you, but you have to promise to leave immediately after you get the things!" Bai Ru shouted from behind the wall.

"Don't worry, we are all trustworthy people!" The bearded man immediately shouted excitedly and turned to give a thumbs up to his companions.

"Ryan Li... Ryan Li... where have you been? Hurry up and bring me some water, I'm dying of thirst..."

Just as Bai Ru was about to send Jiao Jiao and the others to get food, a confused shout suddenly came from the innermost tent, likely because Hu Laoda realized that Ryan Li was not beside him. The tent was suddenly flung open, revealing Hu Laoda wearing only a wrinkled pair of briefs, swaying as he walked out. In his daze, he couldn't see the women huddled in the corner, mumbling about being suffocated, and he was about to pull down his underwear and head out the door when Bai Ru quickly yanked him back.

"What are you doing? What are you doing? I'm just going to pee, why are you pulling me?" Hu Laoda stumbled and fell awkwardly, shouting again. But just as he angrily got up from the ground, he froze in surprise because he was astonished to see a line of fully armed women squatting in front of him. He blinked in confusion, and after realizing what was happening, his first reaction was to step back several paces, waving his hands in panic, stammering, "W-we can talk, just don't... don't use the gun!"

Hu Laoda was drenched in cold sweat, instinctively thinking that the women were staging a revolt; otherwise, why would they be holding guns in the middle of the night to pin him down? They must be dissatisfied with them, the men.

"Old Hu, don't go to the door, there are bandits outside!" Ryan Li shouted anxiously as she saw Hu Laoda almost standing by the door.

"What? What's going on?" Hu Laoda asked, confused, looking at Ryan Li. But as he instinctively turned to look outside, a strong chill shot up his spine and into his brain, causing him to let out a strange cry and tumble to the ground beside Ryan Li, frantically asking, "W-who's out there? Why are there so many guns?"

"I don't know, they say they are from the riverside gathering place, but Lu Jia has never seen them. Now they have surrounded us and are asking for food!" Ryan Li quickly handed the gun in her hand to Hu Laoda and explained.

"Asking for food?" Hu Laoda felt a bit calmer after getting the gun. He turned to Bai Ru beside him and asked anxiously, "Bai Ru, how much do they want? Do they want it all?"

"No, they just want twenty boxes of instant noodles and a few boxes of ham, along with some canned food!" Bai Ru replied, turning her head.

"Huh? Is this all there is?" Boss Hu blinked, asking in disbelief.

"Yes, that's why I discussed with Cao Mei about preparing to give it to them!" Bai Ru nodded and said.

"We can't give it to them!" Boss Hu suddenly frowned, immediately showing the decisiveness a man should have. After thinking for a moment, he said, "They must be testing how much food we have. If we readily hand everything over, they definitely won't leave and will continue to demand more!"

"But what can we do? They have so many guns, and Jack and Thomas Xu are completely out of it. There's no one here who can fight!" Bai Ru also frowned, seemingly realizing the seriousness of the situation, of course, she naturally overlooked Boss Hu's combat ability.

"Here's the plan! Lu Jia, you and Bing Bing go wake Thomas Xu up with water. Bai Ru, you and Cao Mei do the same to call Jack, and let them hurry out to make a decision!" At a critical moment, Boss Hu finally played a role and quickly thought of a solution. He understood that if a gunfight broke out, he wouldn't be of much help; as long as they could wake Jack up, everything would be easier to resolve.

"Right! How did we not think of that? We're so stupid!" Lu Jia slapped her forehead, bending over with Bing Bing, and hurried off to get water to splash on Thomas Xu.
