Chapter 162 - Chapter 162: Midnight Visitor

"I hope nothing has happened?" Both Cao Mei and Bai Ru's expressions changed at the same time as they recalled the ever-present living corpses. The two women hurriedly opened the door and rushed outside, and sure enough, they saw several women gathered at the gate of the courtyard, stretching their heads to look at something.

"What are you all looking at?" Bai Ru saw that there were no living corpses and let out a slight sigh of relief. She walked side by side with Cao Mei to the gate of the courtyard and saw William Peng limping towards them, one hand holding a flashlight and the other carrying a kitchen knife. He flattered Bai Ru, saying, "Miss Bai, we were looking at the lights over there. It seems like a car is coming!"

"A car?" Bai Ru was taken aback and stepped forward a few paces to look down the road they had come from. Since they were on a steep slope, she easily saw several flickering lights approaching from a distance. She raised her hand to check her watch and frowned, saying, "It's almost 1 AM. Who could it be?"

"Let's not worry about who he is for now; it's most important to be cautious! Sisters, quickly call all those men!" Cao Mei also frowned. They still didn't know whether the newcomer was a friend or foe, so it was best to have the men come out with guns just in case. As for Jack, she didn't even think about calling him. After what she and Bai Ru did to him just now, he didn't react at all, so he probably wouldn't wake up until tomorrow noon.

"No way, Mei Jie, Thomas Xu is dead asleep and can't be woken up!" Bing Bing crawled out of her tent wearing only a thin camisole, her long legs exposed, and anxiously shouted at Cao Mei.

"Mei Jie, Lao Hu has been talking nonsense and can't be woken up!" Ryan Li ran out from a tent in the corner while putting on her shirt.

"Mei Jie, Lao... Lao Gao is also unresponsive!" A girl named Nana also crawled out from Gao Chujing's tent, looking quite tidy in her clothing.

"Cao Mei, Michael has also drunk too much!" A Xue stood by her tent, helplessly looking at Michael's half-exposed backside still outside the tent, his tail sticking out straight like a stick.

"This is a disaster; a single party has knocked out all the men!" Bai Ru and Cao Mei exchanged helpless glances, both seeing the urgency in each other's eyes.

"Forget about them, sisters, quickly get dressed and grab the men's guns; we can only rely on ourselves now!" Bai Ru clapped her hands and rushed back into the house. When she reappeared, she had changed into her daytime outfit, wearing a clean and neat white casual outfit, with a high ponytail simply tied at the back of her head, holding a shiny Type 81 rifle in the most standard position at her chest, looking heroic.

Following her out, Cao Mei wore a black V-neck T-shirt, tucking the hem directly into her dark bootcut pants, with a pair of military-style red boots on her feet, holding a shotgun she had always used, equally fierce.

Among these women, besides Bai Ru and Cao Mei, only Jiao Jiao had fired a gun, so she also stepped up, wearing a white stretchy tank top, holding a shotgun as she came out of the tent. With a couple of clicks, she pulled back the gun's bolt and stood next to Cao Mei with her head held high in a provocative manner, seemingly still unwilling after falling for Cao Mei's trick.

There were two cars that came, bumping along one after the other. At this point, almost every woman was holding a gun, big or small. Ryan Li struggled to grip Lao Hu's handgun with both hands, nervously pointing the gun at the empty ground by her feet, her palms barely holding the very bottom of the grip, afraid of an accidental discharge. She worried that the other side wouldn't see it but she might accidentally shoot herself, which would be quite a joke.

Bing Bing also didn't dare to wear her provocative little hot pants anymore; she obediently changed into a pair of long pants and sneakers, clutching the Type 81 rifle she had pulled from Thomas Xu's bedside, tightly hiding behind Bai Ru.

What stunned everyone the most was A Xue, who actually ran straight to the car and pulled out a rocket launcher, struggling to carry it on her small shoulder as she tried to join the line. Bai Ru and Cao Mei quickly stopped her and hurriedly handed her the smallest handgun instead.

It's a joke; even Thomas Xu and the others wouldn't dare to play around with such a deadly weapon. If A Xue accidentally blew something up, all twenty of them would definitely meet their end here tonight.

"Sister Mei, I... I'm so cold. Can I go back and put on my coat?" Nana clutched the Type 81 rifle in her arms like a teddy bear, feeling the goosebumps on her arms and shivering all over.

"No way! That coat makes you look like a bear; it has no presence at all! If those people coming are not good, they'll see you like that and know you're a rookie. They'll definitely bully us, so stand up straight!" Cao Mei turned her head and whispered a reprimand to Nana. In fact, she was just as cold; the temperature at night was only about seven or eight degrees, and it wasn't too noticeable inside, but it was hard to bear once they came out.

"Oh!" Nana pouted in grievance and couldn't help but stomp her feet. If there were any sharp-eyed people around, they would definitely notice that the gun in Nana's hand didn't even have a magazine loaded.

The two cars coming from afar were getting closer, and at this point, the women could even vaguely see the people inside. They were all blocking the entrance of the yard, with Bai Ru, Cao Mei, and Jiao Jiao standing at the front, followed by several rows of women with fierce expressions. As for the limping chef William, everyone automatically ignored him, letting him hide in the corner while still holding his kitchen knife. Although these women seemed imposing on the surface, a closer look revealed that almost everyone had their faces turning blue from the cold, and their calves were shaking.

The two cars had reached the foot of the dirt slope, and surprisingly, one was a white Mercedes-Benz van and the other a red Mini Cooper. Both cars were very dirty, looking like two muddy monkeys, with only a small area on the front windshield cleared by the wipers to barely see the road ahead, while the rest looked like they hadn't been washed in a thousand years.

Clearly, the other party had seen the fire here and the cars parked in front early on. The two cars began to slow down about two hundred meters away from here, but after a few minutes, they started up again and drove straight up the dirt slope.

The two cars climbed up one after the other at a slow speed, with the barely recognizable red Mini in front and the Mercedes behind. After reaching the steep slope, they slowly pulled over to the far left side of the road, seemingly on guard against the people in the yard. However, the dark windows made it impossible to see who was inside!

After several minutes, the lights of the two cars remained on, neither turning off nor letting anyone out, just quietly parked there, not moving at all. Apart from the gentle hum of the engine, there was no other noise.

Baiju and Cao Mei each held their guns tightly, staring intently at the two cars. Although they couldn't see the people inside, they could guess that the others were definitely sizing them up, as they could vaguely feel several gazes sweeping back and forth over them. They were also trying hard to use their eyes to penetrate the dark windows.

"Click…"

The mini co-pilot made a soft sound as the door was gently opened a little. The women in the yard immediately stirred, but the person in the car seemed a bit hesitant, pausing for more than ten seconds before the car door was fully opened.
