Chapter 129 - Chapter129: Club

With a loud crash, the warrior smashed open the iron gate of the clubhouse and bounced inside, rushing to the main building on the third floor. Gao Chujiang was the first to jump down from the car roof, standing on the ground and twisting his waist. He looked at the spacious courtyard and the desolate scenery surrounding him, and he cheerfully said, "Damn it, I wasn't even qualified to come here back in the day. The lowest level only entertained officials at the division chief level and above. Hehe, tonight I want to see who dares to stop me. If I'm not having a good time, I'll smash the place to pieces!"

"Isn't it just a golf club? The place is quite large, but it doesn't seem to be anything special!" Thomas Xu also jumped out of the car, looking around at the environment. After resting for a while, this kid no longer looked as awkward as before; he had regained his lively demeanor!

The golf club has a sizable golf course, and it's not just for practice; it is definitely a standard-sized course. However, the grass that should have been lush and green is now piled high with Marcus sand, making it look like a vast expanse of the Gobi Desert in the northwest. The undulating landscape stretches far and wide, and even the impressively constructed three-story building in front of everyone is partially covered by Marcus sand. The doors and windows are tightly shut, with no trace of the usual hustle and bustle, leaving only an overwhelming sense of loneliness and desolation.

"This place is not bad; I can't even see a single zombie!" Old Hu stood on the car, looking around with great enthusiasm. He discovered that apart from the two zombie security guards at the entrance, there wasn't even a shadow of a half-zombie in sight. Moreover, there was no chaos like in other places. Aside from the ubiquitous Marcus sand, it seemed like a paradise that had never been attacked by the zombie virus.

"Sister Ru, how could you endorse a club in such a small city? This could tarnish your identity as the 'Rose of Huaxia'!" Thomas Xu, with a cigarette in his mouth, looked at Bai Ru, who had just gotten out of the car, with a curious and gossiping expression in his eyes.

Bai Ru's expression stiffened for a moment. Seeing Jack looking at her with curiosity, she awkwardly lowered her head and stammered, "It's... it's a friend's relationship, and I can't refuse. I didn't take any money!"

"I guessed it would be like this! Sister Ru wouldn't endorse such a small place without a familiar introduction. The owner here must have been bitten by a zombie!" Thomas Xu nodded in realization, laughing heartily.

"Alright, let's go in and take a look!"

Jack strode up the steps with his M1911A1. Except for Thomas Xu, who was holding his gun and following closely behind him, everyone else stood cautiously by the car. It wasn't that they were all timid; it was just that in this situation, they couldn't tell how many zombies might be inside. If dozens of them suddenly rushed out, standing with Jack would only cause him countless troubles, and besides, all this experience had been taught to them by Jack long ago.

"Damn! It's locked!" Thomas Xu bent down to twist the handle of the building's main door, only to find it completely immovable, firmly locked by someone.

"Step aside a bit!" Jack tilted his head at Thomas Xu. After Thomas Xu took two steps back, two large-caliber bullets accurately struck the keyhole of the wooden door. After a clang of metal, Thomas Xu rushed up and kicked open the two luxurious reddish-brown wooden doors.

As the wooden doors swung open, everyone was surprised to find that not only did the imagined zombies not appear, but there wasn't even a scrap of paper on the floor. Aside from a thin layer of dust, the entire room was surprisingly tidy, showing no signs of the chaos that would typically follow a hasty retreat. It was as if the place had just undergone a period of tidying up and was reopening for business.

"Hey~ this is strange, did everyone here happen to be on vacation when the disaster broke out?" Boss Hu and the others slowly walked into the magnificent hall. He was like a complete country bumpkin, touching this and poking that, as if everything was new and fascinating to him.

"They were on vacation because the owner here was getting married; they took ten days off!" A faint voice rang out. Everyone turned in surprise to see Bai Ru standing at the entrance with a somewhat unpleasant expression, her face filled with uncontrollable irritation.

"Oh? It seems you're quite familiar with the owner here!" Cao Mei, holding a shotgun, turned back with great interest, her gaze towards Bai Ru filled with amusement.

"So what if I am?" Bai Ru replied indifferently, glancing at Cao Mei, who seemed to have ulterior motives. Then, as if intentionally changing the subject, she turned to Thomas Xu, who was fiddling with an antique vase, and said, "Thomas Xu, I remember there's a backup generator here. If it still works, I think we'll have a lot more fun tonight!"

"That's great, Old Hu, let's go look for it together!" Thomas Xu cheered, casually throwing away the antique vase in his hand, letting it shatter on the ground with a loud crash, and then dragged Old Hu, who was reluctant, into the house.

"Wow~ Sisters, there's actually a little supermarket here! We're going to hit the jackpot!" Jiao Jiao burst out of a small room on the left like a whirlwind, holding two unopened bottles of cocktails and shouting excitedly. As soon as she yelled, almost all the girls' eyes lit up, and they collectively rushed into that small room like they were crazy. Before long, their excited shouts filled the air.

"Lin Ye, whiskey, red wine, foreign liquor, or cocktails, which one do you want?"

Five minutes later, Jiao Jiao and the girls began to move various drinks and snacks from the supermarket into the hall, spreading them all out on the red handmade wool carpet in the middle. Jiao Jiao squatted elegantly by the sofa, looking at Jack with an expression that was as professional and standard as when they served first-class passengers on the plane. However, their service items were now more varied; if the guest in front of them requested it, they would undoubtedly strip off all their clothes to provide him with an extraordinary experience.

"Let's have a bottle of rum! It's been a long time since I had that!" Jack laughed as he took a whole bottle of rum from Jiao Jiao's hands. After taking the drink, he looked over at Bai Ru, intending to ask if she wanted to drink a little with him, but found Bai Ru sitting on the brown leather sofa, staring blankly at the ground. The words were on the tip of his tongue, but Jack had to swallow them back, not wanting to look at the somewhat off Bai Ru, while sipping his drink and surveying the environment.

The overall decoration style of this club is somewhat Westernized, resembling a European castle. The hall, which is about four to five hundred square meters, is filled with European-style furniture. Above, a grand dome is painted with some Nordic mythological stories. Since the lighting is not very bright, it's hard to see which characters are depicted up there.

On the left side as soon as you enter, there is a large fireplace surrounded by pure white jade that seems capable of burning wood, not just for show. Inside, there are some charred black marks left by flames. Beyond that, aside from a few smaller sofas, there is a very luxurious golden bar. However, this bar seems to be for reception purposes, as there are no drinks displayed; instead, there is a complete oil painting as a backdrop and a striking set of medieval heavy knight armor.

Jack didn't dare to compliment the overall style here. Although it exudes nobility and grandeur, with first-class furniture and materials, Jack instinctively disliked the place. It wouldn't be accurate to say it was decorated like a nouveau riche, but it had a pretentious noble quality, as if the owner was deliberately emphasizing their superior status, which instead came off as overly affected.

"Bai Ru, why do you look so distracted? Are you thinking of someone, or does this place really hold many memories for you that make you feel sentimental?" Cao Mei, holding a bottle of low-alcohol pink cocktail, gracefully sat down next to Jack, casually leaning her body against his shoulder. The two of them formed a stark contrast to Bai Ru, who was sitting across from them, making her feel even lonelier.

"It's nothing. The owner here is indeed a very good friend of mine. I was just thinking of some things about him!" Bai Ru raised her head irritably at Cao Mei's words, glanced at her shoulder leaning against Jack, frowned slightly, and fell silent again, staring blankly at the ground.
