Chapter 107 - Chapter 107: Transaction or Misunderstanding

"Old Hu, what are you doing?" Jack also stood up, deeply furrowing his brows. He naturally couldn't ignore Boss Hu's reckless behavior. In fact, since Boss Hu had attached himself to him, he had generally behaved himself and rarely acted arrogantly. Today, however, he suddenly revealed his true nature, and looking at his drunken face, Jack guessed he must have drunk too much cat urine.

"Jack, we provide you with good food and drinks, and this is how you treat us?" Yue Yunfei looked at Jack with a piercing gaze, and he was definitely a smart person. His target was always just Hu Laoda; he wouldn't drag Jack down with him. What he wanted was for Jack to help with the reasoning, not to help his friends.

"Man! This damn bitch dared to slap me!" Boss Hu ultimately didn't lose his head. Hearing Jack speak, he hesitated and turned back, shouting angrily, "I was making a deal with her. I only touched her because she didn't say anything. If you don't believe me, ask her yourself!"

"No... no, I didn't agree to him!" Reina's face turned pale as she peeked out from behind Jiang Jie, anxiously explaining, "He said it was a delusion for us to think we could break out. He wanted me to go with him tomorrow. I... I hadn't even spoken yet, and then... his hand just touched me!"

"Bullshit! Do you think I'm a pervert?" Boss Hu angrily waved the gun in his hand, cursing, "You filthy bitch, who asked me to take your little boyfriend with us? You keep saying you'll fulfill your promise later, but your words are just bullshit!"

"Wuwu... you scared me, that's why I said that!" Reina had no way to argue back and started crying, holding her face.

In fact, neither of them was lying. Boss Hu did use intimidation to try to get Reina into bed, while Reina was afraid of being deceived. If Boss Hu played with her and then denied it, she wouldn't have anyone to turn to for justice. So, she reluctantly proposed a few conditions, agreeing to fulfill his wishes after leaving this place. However, Boss Hu, seeing a young woman, couldn't control himself and hurriedly grabbed Reina's chest. Just as Reina was lost in thought, her chest was suddenly attacked, and she instinctively slapped Boss Hu hard, leading to this farce.

"Reina, get back to your room!" Yue Yunfei's face was as dark as a pot bottom. This was not just about losing face; Reina's actions were a blatant betrayal, a naked betrayal of the oath they had just sworn, a treacherous escape for her own life.

"Wuwu..." Reina, knowing she had lost face, ran back inside crying. As her boyfriend, Jiang Jie looked at Yue Yunfei with a conflicted expression, wanting to chase after Reina while also wanting to quickly express his loyalty to Yue Yunfei to prove his innocence.

"Huh~" Yue Yunfei let out a heavy breath, looking at Jiang Jie with a frown, and said in a deep voice, "You are you, and she is she. I know this matter has nothing to do with you. If Reina weren't a woman, I would have shot her already. I hope you don't act foolishly and can distinguish between priorities and consequences!"

"No... I won't, Boss Yue. Reina was just scared; she's always been timid!" Jiang Jie hurriedly waved his hand, casting a resentful glance at the smug Boss Hu, then clenched his fist and said, "Boss Yue, you saved my life. I will never betray you!"

"Go check on Reina!" Yue Yunfei nodded, somewhat wearily waving Jiang Jie away. Then he turned his body, not even looking at the clown-like Boss Hu, and directly said to Jack, "Brother, I've had a bit too much to drink. I'm going to rest inside. I'll leave the escape plan to you. As a thank you, you can take half of the food here!"

"I will do my best!" Jack nodded without hesitation. He was not the kind of person to hold grudges; since the misunderstanding had been cleared up, he naturally wouldn't dwell on it.

"Old Ryan, please take care of this place. Everyone, I'll take my leave now!" Yue Yunfei glanced around at the crowd, turned around, and left without looking back.

"Um…" Ryan Lin looked at Jack somewhat awkwardly. As Ryan Na was one of their own, her actions had embarrassed him a bit, and it almost led to a conflict between the two groups. He rubbed his hands together sheepishly and asked, "How about we let Thomas Li sing a song for everyone? Little Thomas has the best voice among us!"

"No need, we have to work hard tomorrow. Please take us to rest!" Jack shook his head and directly refused. He didn't want to participate too much in this kind of bittersweet entertainment; just enough was fine, otherwise, it would only bring back painful memories later.

"Please follow me, the rooms are ready for you!" Ryan Lin nodded and gestured with his arm, leading Jack and the others inside. As he hurriedly glanced back while leaving, Jack noticed that Ding Jie was still sitting there, pouring herself a glass of red wine. Her graceful figure looked incredibly desolate at that moment, as if she were a complete outsider, seemingly uninterested in anything at all!

Ryan Lin held a self-powered flashlight, leading everyone deeper with a courteous smile. This cheap item he got from the telecom company back then had now become a rare hot commodity, as it could produce a continuous light just by squeezing it, without needing any external power source or batteries. It was simply an essential tool for survival in an apocalypse.

After walking for a while on the soft carpet, Jack keenly noticed that they were getting further away from the area where Yue Yunfei and the others were staying. However, he didn't say much. While he was on guard against Yue Yunfei, Yue Yunfei was certainly being cautious of him as well. It was impossible to arrange for the two groups to live together; both sides were worried that the other might know them superficially but not deeply, or that they might hold unknown trump cards.

"We've arrived, this is the place!" Ryan Lin stopped with a beaming smile, shining the flashlight on a wooden door. Jack had already seen the sign in the corridor indicating that this was the SPA leisure area, where elegantly decorated private rooms were neatly lined up, clearly meant for massage and beauty treatments.

"We've tidied up these four rooms, and the candles are set inside!" Ryan Lin said, pulling out a box of matches with the hotel's advertisement from his pocket. He handed it to Jack and added, "You guys should rest early. If you need anything, just call me. I'll be sleeping in the last room at the end of the corridor around the corner!"

"Okay, thank you!" Jack took out a powerful flashlight from his waist bag, turned it on, and smiled politely at Ryan Lin. Ryan Lin nodded courteously and quickly walked away.

After Ryan Lin left, Jack and the others entered a room holding flashlights. After looking around, they found that it was a very standard massage room, about ten square meters in size, fully equipped with air conditioning, a television, and a sofa. The only thing missing was a separate bathroom, but the bed was quite large, made up of three Thomas mattresses combined on the floor, clearly intended for Thai massage.

Jack placed the flashlight on a Thomas coffee table and struck a match to light the two thick red candles on it. The room instantly brightened, and the suffocating feeling of being surrounded by darkness disappeared. Jack casually tossed the half-burnt match into the glass ashtray and turned to the three men, saying, "I'll take the first watch tonight, then it's Old Hu's turn, followed by Old Gao. Thomas Xu got injured, so he won't be on watch tonight!"

"Do we really have to keep watch here?" Gao Chujing instinctively asked, only to immediately realize how foolish his question was. Old Hu mocked him, saying, "Not keep watch? If those guys sneak in at midnight and slit our throats with a knife or shoot us with a gun, what are you going to do, call the police?"

"I... I was just asking!" Gao Chujing chuckled awkwardly and then eagerly asked, "So, are the three of us sleeping in one room? It would be good to have someone to look out for in case something happens!"

"Cut it out~ Who would want to sleep with you? I'm not into that, who knows if you snore while sleeping!" Old Hu immediately rejected Gao Chujing's suggestion, picked up the matchbox that Jack had left on the coffee table, and, with his gun slung over his shoulder, whistled leisurely as he headed to the room across the hall.

"Hurry up and sleep, if you get up early tomorrow, you can take a shower before leaving!" Thomas Xu impatiently pushed Gao Chujing aside and lay flat on the bed. However, Gao Chujing soon realized that this guy wasn't as carefree as he seemed; as he turned over, the brand-new handgun at his waist clicked into place, and he stuffed it under his pillow, actually falling asleep while holding the gun.

"Let's go!" Jack patted Gao Chujing on the shoulder and turned to leave with him, while Gao Chujing obediently went to the other room with his gun.
