Chapter 102 - Chapter 102: The Hotel Swimming Pool

Yue Yunfei and the others looked fairly well, aside from their wrinkled clothes. In terms of personal hygiene and mental state, they were almost indistinguishable from normal people. Seeing this situation, Jack felt somewhat reassured and asked, "How are you doing? Is there enough food?"

"If there was a refrigerator here, the original food would be enough for us to eat for another year. Unfortunately, even the backup power has stopped working, so a lot of food has rotted. If we tighten our belts, it might last us another three to four months!" Yue Yunfei shrugged helplessly, his gaze flickering as he looked at Jack. He seemed to enjoy making this shrugging gesture and always showed his palms to Jack. Jack understood that this was Yue Yunfei's subconscious way of being friendly, indicating that he genuinely wanted to befriend Jack and the others.

"What about the water supply? I see you still have some clothes to wash!" Jack pointed upstairs, where a sexy pink thong was hanging, not knowing who had hung it, but judging by the size, it seemed more likely to belong to the tall Bova.

"There is indeed a lot of water; we have eight water towers here, and there's an outdoor swimming pool on the third floor. How about it? Are you interested in going up to take a look? If it's just for a shower, we can still afford that!"

Yue Yunfei smiled at Jack, while Bova, who had just finished bandaging Juan, suddenly stood up and shouted angrily, "Yue Yunfei, you can bring these people here to eat, drink, and have fun, but don't forget that the bathroom on the third floor is my and my husband's private territory, a gift from the shareholders. I hope you won't step foot in there!"

"Sure!" Yue Yunfei nodded with an unhappy expression, but Jack clearly saw his temples bulging, a sign that he was about to lose his temper. It was evident that even Yue Yunfei was struggling to endure Bova's incessant shouting.

"Alright, we're going up. I really can't stand being under the same roof as a bunch of murderers; this is just a damn unlucky day!" Aisha Bova gritted her teeth and complained, then, with Ding Jiandong's help, she supported the staggering Juan as they headed upstairs.

"Shasha... Lin... Jack... where are you..."

A noisy sound suddenly came from Jack's red waist bag; it was the intercom. At this point, they were at least five or six kilometers away from where they had come, and they were using high-power civilian walkie-talkies, making it nearly impossible to hear what the other side was saying at such a distance. They could barely make out that it was Bai Ru calling them.

"We are in a hotel, temporarily safe! Repeat, we are in a hotel..." Jack pulled out the walkie-talkie and shouted hoarsely, but the distance was just too far, and all he received were fragmented words. However, Jack's goal had been achieved; as long as Bai Ru and the others knew that the four of them were still alive, that was enough.

"Lao Gao, carry Thomas Xu on your back; we're going to the third floor!" Jack stood up, tilted his head, and then glanced at Yue Yunfei, who looked a bit surprised and asked, "Do you have companions outside?"

Jack nodded and acknowledged with a "mm," and seeing that Yue Yunfei didn't intend to elaborate, he could only smile wryly and turn to lead the group upstairs.

All eight guest elevators in the hotel were naturally out of order, so the group could only walk up the dimly lit staircase. Yue Yunfei walked in front, still playing the role of host, introducing as they walked, "The second floor is a Western restaurant where we do our laundry and cooking; of course, we rarely clean our outerwear, as we haven't reached that level of luxury yet. The third floor is where we usually hang out and rest; besides the swimming pool, there's also a gym and places like a spa!"

"How many people were in this building at the beginning? Were there any zombies?" Jack asked.

"Yes, of course there are! How could there not be any living corpses?" Yue Yunfei turned around and stopped. At this point, everyone had already reached the third floor and was standing at the entrance to the corridor. Yue Yunfei leaned against the railing and pointed to the staircase leading to the fourth floor, saying, "There are at least five hundred living corpses on the fourth floor. Although I don't want to dampen your spirits, it was a wrong decision to escape here. We are trapped with no way up or down; we are truly at a dead end!"

"Oh?" Jack looked up towards the upper floor. The corridor leading to the fourth floor was almost completely blocked by heavy furniture, with several Thomas dining table legs protruding from the railing, nearly bursting the staircase. The level of precaution was even higher than in the lobby. Jack curiously asked, "Are the living corpses up there all guests of this place?"

"No, most of them are our staff, including our senior executives, a management team sent by foreigners, and some guests invited for the opening ceremony!" Yue Yunfei shrugged casually, then regretfully tapped his head and said, "Sorry, I forgot to mention that our hotel hasn't officially opened yet. This is our greatest fortune; otherwise, there would definitely be a terrifying number of living corpses here. Come on, let's go have a few drinks first, and I'll explain everything to you in detail later!"

A group of people followed Yue Yunfei into the corridor on the third floor. There were no lights or windows in the hallway, and only the bright sunlight shone in from the ends. The floor was covered with a deep red patterned carpet, which not only looked very high-end but also felt extremely comfortable underfoot, soft and bouncy like stepping on rubber.

In the corridor, there was a golden plaque marked with both Chinese and English. According to the display, the entire floor was functional facilities. In addition to the swimming pool and gym that Yue Yunfei just mentioned, there was even a nightclub here, and there were no guest room areas on the entire third floor.

As everyone walked to the right with Yue Yunfei, Jack observed and discovered that the layout here was basically a grid structure. If it weren't for someone familiar leading the way, it would be easy to get lost in this vast area on the first visit. Just as they were about to enter the pool area, a half-naked figure appeared at the end of the corridor.

The figure, with a body like a thoroughbred, was obviously Aisha Bova. She was only wearing a black thong, and her ample bosom was only half-covered by her hand. Due to her long-time tennis playing, her arms were surprisingly muscular, and even compared to Jack, she was not lacking in strength, lacking any femininity at all.

Aisha Bova also saw Jack and the others, but there was no trace of shyness on her face. After glancing at Jack and the others with a blank expression, she lazily opened a door opposite her and walked in gracefully. Yue Yunfei explained beside her, "The last room is a luxury suite in the nightclub, equipped with a bed and a bathroom, and has a separate corridor. Juan is also someone who loves to have fun, and since Aisha is here for the hotel's opening ceremony, the major shareholder decided to give them that luxury suite for free for a long time. The place Aisha just entered is our changing room, where many new clothes are stored!"

"Hey! That thoroughbred's breasts are huge; it must be quite exciting! Tsk tsk~" Boss Hu's eyes sparkled as he watched Bova disappear down the corridor, a drooling expression spreading across his face. Meanwhile, Gao Chuanjiang, who was carrying Thomas Xu, exclaimed in surprise, "No way? Old Hu, your taste is too heavy. When you sleep with that kind of woman, do you get on top of her, or does she get on top of you? Not only is she tall, but her arms are thicker than mine!"

"And she doesn't wear perfume and has body odor, just like the smell of dogs!" Yue Yunfei smiled slightly at the astonished Boss Hu, giving him a playful wink. Without waiting for Boss Hu to say anything, he enthusiastically put his arm around his shoulder and said, "Come on, I still have a few bottles of top-notch French red wine that I haven't opened yet. Let's open a few bottles and taste them together later!"

As Jack and the others stepped into the swimming pool area, their eyes immediately brightened. This was already at the back of the hotel, and the pool was built on a protruding terrace. The entire floor was paved with slatted wooden boards, and a dozen brown umbrellas dutifully shaded the white beach chairs. Although the pool was not very large, it offered a unique view of the city, especially with four lifelike plastic palm trees adding a touch of tropical charm to the place.
