Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 "The Unwanted Beginning

The scene begins with the main character's dialogue.

"I had always been good with academics in my childhood, but my luck seemed to be against me as I grew older."

The scene then shifts to the morning, where a boy is sitting upright on his bed after waking up, covering his face with his hands. The phone on the table beside him is ringing, but he does not pick it up. A flashback appears in the MC's mind, and within that faded memory, he hears the screaming voice of a terrified person shouting, "You monster!!!"

Throughout this entire scene, He is subtly trembling and taking deep breaths. While narrating, he says, "Is there really something eccentric inside me?"

The scene moves forward, and as he narrates, he reveals his name—Mikey. Mikey is shown washing his face.

Mikey narrates, "I used to have a great friend." His name was Max, and he was the closest person to me—more like a brother. He never treated me differently, even though there was a huge difference between our backgrounds. As Mikey narrates this, coffee is boiling in the kitchen.

Mikey lifts the coffee jug and pours it into his glass while continuing his narration:

"I was good in academics, but it didn't help me much. As a result, I started exploring coding and hacking. Those skills eventually made me a successful hacker, but even after all my studying, I couldn't find a decent job. Instead, I ended up working part-time at a store, where I also engaged in dark hacking."

After pouring the coffee, Mikey places the cup on the main table and sits on a chair. His phone rings again, but he ignores it, puts it on silent, and starts watching the news. Mikey says, "They are nothing but a bunch of crooks," and takes a sip of coffee.

Side by side, Mikey narrates, "The world of hacking fascinated me. It was like peering into a hidden realm where knowledge was power, and I had a thirst for that power."

Mikey gets ready, locks his house, yawns, and starts walking ahead of the gate. While narrating, Mikey says, "My days were divided between my mundane job and the late-night sessions of delving into the virtual world, seeking information, and uncovering secrets." Mikey walks ahead and passes by a park, and for some reason, he gives the park a weird look before moving on. Mikey narrates, "Hacking was my outlet, a way to channel my frustrations and the disappointments life had thrown at me."

The scene progresses, and Mikey arrives at the shop, sits at the counter, and starts cleaning a can. While narrating, Mikey says, "Despite my skills, I found myself isolated at times. It's not like I can't talk, but it is me who is scared to connect with people on a personal level." Mikey is completely focused on cleaning the can and pays attention to nothing else. Mikey narrates, "It is a lonely journey I've travelled." At the same time, a girl speaks to him in a teasing tone, "Hello? I'm done here… are you even here?? Kiddo??"

The scene moves forward. Mikey is still lost in his own world, and while narrating, he says, "She's one of my regular customers, and to be honest, she's damn annoying."

The girl says, "Can I go now?"

Mikey replies, "It'll be 210."

The girl says, "Wait—when did you start charging me more for cigarettes??"

Mikey responds, "Due to the recent pandemic, prices of tobacco and drinks have been raised by the government. Didn't you watch today's news?"

The girl slams her hand on the table and says, "Fine, then add one more can of soda."

Mikey says, "I can't give you on credit again."

In his mind, Mikey says, "She always annoys me."

The girl says, "Then reduce the price of the cigarettes."

Mikey says, "YOUU—."

He eventually lowered the prices.

The girl says, "That's good, my boy."

Mikey says, "Here's your change," but the girl keeps staring at Mikey. In a tired tone, Mikey says, "What now?"

The girl replies, "Nothing, it's just—"

Mikey says, "What?"

The girl says, "You smell like socks today."

Mikey narrates, "At that time, I didn't even know how to react to her."

Mikey looks at her without saying anything, and she leaves the shop laughing.

In his mind, Mikey says, "I'm gonna kill her someday."

The scene moves forward, and Mikey is closing the shop while narrating:

"I often struggled to connect with people on a personal level, but somehow I embraced it for all those years without having anyone by my side except me. There were times when I wanted to end everything with just a single action. There was a time when I could change the whole world with a single button—but I resisted. Maybe that was maturity, or maybe I knew the consequences of my actions. I am blessed with everything, yet I refused to take action. I refused to take a step ahead, even though I only had to take one."

Mikey notices that the weather is getting terrible out of nowhere, so he decides to eat outside.

He says, "I think I should eat outside. I'm pretty late."

Mikey narrates while walking down the road

"Humans tend to stay in places where they sense comfort, even though they see reality with their own eyes. They trap themselves in their self-made cocoon of a delusional world, where taking a step outside their comfort zone is prohibited. I've always wanted to step outside my cocoon—but when I tried, I fell."

As soon as this narration ends, Mikey notices that someone is stalking him from behind. Remaining calm, Mikey thinks, "Looks like I'll have to eat instant noodles at home again." Mikey is about to take something out of his bag, but before he can, a girl lunges at him from the front and knocks him to the ground. For a split second, Mikey is shocked after seeing the girl's face, and the stalker retreats. Mikey falls to the ground.

In his mind, Mikey says, "At that time, I felt nothing but sadness." Mikey lies there on the ground.

A child and his mother pass by Mikey. The child says, "Mom, look—an uncle is sleeping on the road."

The mother says, "Look straight. This is a bad habit."

They both walk away.

Mikey says, "I should get going too."

After a while, it starts raining.

Mikey notices that the person who was chasing him suddenly vanished from behind, He confirms that no one is behind him again.

In his mind, Mikey says, "I hate winter rain."

The scene moves forward to a restaurant. A pressure cooker whistle is blowing, and despite the rain, the restaurant is very lively. Inside, people are sitting and talking, and a waiter is taking orders. Inside the kitchen, a woman cook says, "Why hasn't that waiter brought the menu yet? What if the food gets delayed?"

Another cook replies, "Don't you know?"

The first cook asks, "What?"

The second cook says, "We need to take orders right now. Our boss's grandson is here, so he must be assigned there."

The first cook says, "What??"

The scene shifts to the boss, who is scolding Mikey for getting soaked in the rain in such cold weather. The boss is an old granny who runs the restaurant. She says, "Go to the kitchen first and dry yourself."

Mikey replies, "Don't worry, Grandma. I'm fine. Just give me something to eat."

The granny says, "Sure, honey. Take a seat inside, but make sure to dry your clothes first!!" Mikey says in a cranky but soft tone, "Sure, Grandma...."

Mikey walks inside after opening the door, and as soon as the door opens, he sees the same girl sitting there. The granny says, "You can take that seat." Mikey and the girl make eye contact, and both fall silent for a moment inside the lively restaurant.
