"Shit, that same dream again."
Most of the time in my dreams, I either fall from a height or see things that later become true in the future. I don't know the reason why I get these kinds of dreams, but I think it doesn't matter at this point.
It was another free period in class, and I was sleeping again instead of talking to my classmates. It was the second last year of my high school, and it was almost coming to an end.
"Aaaaaaa—"
I finally woke up from that weird dream.
"Are you sleeping again, Priyanshu?"
In the noisy classroom, with no teacher present, I raised my head reflexively. It was none other than my friend Abhi. He calls himself an ambivert, but he seems more like an extrovert to me. Maybe I'm just too introverted.
"Did you watch that new anime, Priyanshu bro?"
"Yes. The story was kind of mid, but it was wholesome, though. Good for time pass."
Even though I'm introverted as hell and hate small talk, I can discuss anime, manga, and video games all day. Maybe that's the only reason I managed to make some friends. Common interests helped me connect with them.
Whatever. My JEE exams are coming up after my final year ends, and I have to start studying seriously once this year is over.
JEE is basically an acronym for Joint Entrance Examination, an entrance test that students have to clear to get admission into government colleges in India.
Government colleges are considered better than private ones because they offer a better college life, better placements, and better job opportunities.
"How's your preparation going?"
"Fine."
I replied "fine" even though I had wasted the whole year watching anime, playing games, and reading peak manga.
I'm hopeless as hell. Even though I score well in school exams, entrance exam preparation is worse than anyone could imagine.
I know you're probably thinking this story is going to be boring if it's all about a kid dealing with exam prep and high school stuff. Honestly, I thought so too… until I became delusional.
