Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Three-Way Melee

The Rainbow Dragon was sent flying back, and Satoru Gojo took a step back as well. He immediately reactivated his Limitless (Infinity) and stared at Ming in shock.

"Genjutsu... Sharingan." A terrifying ocular power began to seep toward Gojo.

"Crap—" Gojo's eyes momentarily lost their focus.

Suguru Geto recovered from his surprise. An even more terrifying Cursed Spirit emerged, lunging toward Ming and Gojo.

"Deactivate technique," Ming muttered.

He ignored Geto's Cursed Spirit; he had to deal with the most troublesome opponent, Gojo, first.

With the illusion taking hold, the technique protecting Gojo's body faltered. Ming threw a punch straight at Gojo's face.

However, Gojo didn't fly back. Instead, Ming's fist was halted less than a centimeter from Gojo's skin. Ming's eyes narrowed as he realized the problem. It looked like a centimeter, but it was a distance greater than the horizon. Gojo swung a counter-punch at Ming, and this time, he felt it clearly—his fist passed straight through Ming.

"That was close," Gojo smirked. "So, when I passed through you earlier, it wasn't an illusion."

"You're the first person to break out of my Genjutsu that quickly, Satoru," Ming smiled slightly.

As the two chatted, Geto's Cursed Spirit struck. Both the Six Eyes and the Sharingan detected it instantly, but neither moved. The spirit passed through Ming like he was a ghost and charged at Gojo.

Gojo stood his ground, unmoving.

"So, your eyes can change form like that too," Gojo noted.

"You two are absolute monsters," Geto's voice rang out from behind them.

He recalled his lesser spirits. Behind him now stood two formidable entities.

"Semi-Grade 1?" Gojo looked at Geto. One was a Semi-Grade 1, and the other was a Grade 1 spirit. Their cursed energy levels were incomparable to the fodder from before.

"Suguru, you're the one calling people monsters?" Ming looked at the mild-mannered Geto. A Semi-Grade 1 was a nightmare for most Grade 1 sorcerers. Currently, the only Special Grade sorcerer was Yuki Tsukumo. Even the future "strongest" duo, Gojo and Geto, were still just high school newcomers.

"In that case, let's cut loose a little," Gojo said, his Cursed Energy beginning to flow on a massive scale.

"My thoughts exactly, Satoru."

Geto began to pump his own Cursed Energy into his two powerful spirits, reinforcing them.

"Come on then." Ming closed his eyes and snapped them open. A horrifying ocular power erupted, and his bottomless well of Cursed Energy began to boil.

"Maximum Output..."

"Cursed Energy Transfer..."

"Susanoo..."

The collective pressure from the three began to warp the very environment around them.

"Sensei!" Shoko scrambled behind Masamichi Yaga. As a support sorcerer who only knew Reverse Cursed Technique, her only option was to hide.

"STOP, YOU BRATS! DO YOU WANT TO LEVEL THE WHOLE SCHOOL?!"

Gojo's Maximum Output: Blue worked like a bulldozer, capable of erasing buildings in an instant. Geto's spirits were no joke either—it took a tank battalion's worth of carpet bombing to kill a Grade 1, and he had two reinforced ones out.

As for Ming, Yaga didn't know his specific move, but the sheer volume of Cursed Energy—even greater than Gojo's—threatened to blow the mountain apart.

Hearing the roar, the three instantly suppressed their energy.

"You idiots!" Yaga delivered a heavy fist to each of their heads. Usually, Gojo or Ming might have used their techniques to avoid it, but seeing Yaga's murderous expression, they both thought better of it. Moments later, the three were standing there with massive lumps on their heads.

"Class dismissed. Free time," Yaga said, his earlier joy completely gone. He looked at the training field, which now resembled a war zone. "The three of you—no, the four of you including Shoko—clean this mess up."

Yaga stomped away in a huff.

"Wh—Wait!" Shoko started to protest, but one look at Yaga's face made her shut up immediately, looking like a deflated balloon.

The four began using their abilities to clear the debris. After a while...

"Man, Yaga-sensei is such an old fossil. Making me do manual labor," Gojo complained. He used his technique to make rocks float around him. Despite the whining, he was actually working quite hard.

"Satoru, stop complaining. And even if you won't use honorifics, you should really change your first-person pronoun ('Ore')," Geto said, controlling a spirit to carry heavy pillars.

"Hey, I'm the one who's truly wronged here!" Shoko grumbled.

"Everyone, pipe down. Honestly, Satoru, Suguru—your techniques are quite convenient for this," Ming noted. He was the only one not physically moving anything, as the other two's powers were better suited for mass cleanup.

"Tch," the two looked at the idling Ming with irritation.

"Ming, stop standing there making snide remarks and help out! There's still a mountain of stones left," Gojo said listlessly.

"Hold on, let me think of something," Ming said, rubbing his chin. He slapped his palm with his fist. "Got it! Satoru, use Blue to pull all the rubble into the air, and I'll teleport it all somewhere else."

"What? I can move it myself! But if I use Blue, I might lose control of the output and destroy the remaining buildings," Gojo looked at Ming like he was an idiot.

"Hey, what's with that look, Satoru? You want to fight? It was your technique that caused most of this mess anyway!" Ming snapped.

"Let's go then! I wasn't finished earlier!" Gojo barked.

Shoko immediately backed away from the two.

"Satoru, Ming, that's enough! Just clean up, or it'll be bad if Yaga-sensei catches us again," Geto intervened. The two went quiet.

"Hmph," they snorted in unison, looking away.

"Ming, I bet I can clear more than you. Want to make it a contest?" Gojo challenged.

"Tch, bring it on," Ming said. Gojo smirked; he knew his Blue made clearing rubble a breeze.

"Suguru, Shoko—you two be the judges," Ming said.

"Fine, fine," Geto sighed. He was starting to realize Ming's true personality: he looked cold and aloof, but he was just as competitive and childish as Satoru Gojo.
