Chapter 5 - Volume 2, Chapter 1: The outbreak of a monster...

The mirror did not shatter.

It darkened.

Anzhu felt it before she understood it. The air around her grew heavier, as if the world itself had paused to listen. Tears slipped from her eyes, falling silently onto the stone floor. They did not splash. They simply spread, cold and thin.

On the other side of the mirror, the Master Universe had gone silent.

No dragons.

No sky.

No sound.

Gaurav's body lay motionless in the vastness where battle had ended him. His chest did not rise. His fingers did not twitch.

For a moment, even the cosmos seemed to accept it.

Then something beneath his ribs moved.

Not breath.

Something deeper.

A fracture ran through space, thin as a hairline crack in glass. Light bent toward him. Sound distorted. The remains of the Master Universe trembled as though resisting an unseen pressure.

Within the darkness of his mind, memories flickered.

Anzhu laughing.

Anzhu angry.

Anzhu reaching for him through the mirror.

"I… can't…"

The void pressed down harder.

"…die."

His eyes snapped open.

They were not the same.

The Master Universe did not explode.

It glitched.

Stars froze mid-burn. Fragments of ruined terrain lifted into the air and held there, suspended by nothing. The dragons who had toyed with him earlier appeared for a fraction of a second, as if time had attempted to rewind.

Then half of existence vanished.

Not destroyed.

Removed.

A perfect hemisphere of the Master Universe simply ceased to be. No debris. No echo. No remnants.

Just absence.

The dragons were erased with it.

Anzhu stumbled backward from the mirror. The surface had turned pitch black, swallowing light. For several heartbeats, she saw nothing.

Then the darkness thinned.

What remained of the Master Universe was no longer a world.

It was a cosmos stripped to bone.

And in that endless void, Gaurav stood.

No wounds marked his body.

No blood stained his clothes.

But around him, the air folded inward, like reality itself feared standing too close.

Anzhu's voice broke as she whispered, "Is this… real?"

Gaurav slowly raised his hand.

The void resisted.

Then it obeyed.

Space tore open before him in a vertical line of silver light. The edges trembled violently, struggling to remain sealed. Through the opening, the Human Universe flickered into view.

He did not hesitate.

He stepped forward—

—and the tear snapped shut.

The impact was silent, but absolute.

Four figures stood between him and the sealed space.

They had not arrived with noise or spectacle.

They simply were.

Symbols burned faintly behind them, rotating in slow, precise patterns. The pressure they carried did not feel like power.

It felt like authority.

One of them extended a single finger toward the place where the portal had been.

Reality re-stitched itself but with much efforts.

Perfect.

Unbreakable.

For the first time since awakening, Gaurav's expression shifted.

Curiosity.

The second disciple moved their hand across the cosmos. Threads of light unraveled from their palm, weaving through the emptiness. The erased half of the Master Universe did not return exactly as it had been.

It was restored.

But the stars flickered slightly.

Time stuttered.

Scars remained.

The remaining two disciples stepped forward.

"You are destabilizing this realm," one said.

Their voice did not echo.

It engraved itself into space.

Gaurav tilted his head.

The dark aura around him pulsed once.

Then the fight began.
