Chapter 3 - Marry Me

✦THE NEXT MORNING: 14TH FEBRUARY✦

◈MICHAEL'S ROOM◈

"Wakey, wakey," David said cheerfully as he entered Michael's room with a tray holding two cups and sliced toast, and Michael opened his eyes sluggishly before turning over with a boyish grin.

"Come on," David added as he approached the bed, and Michael sat up, pushing the duvet aside while watching him; but David missed his step and stumbled forward, the tray tipping and spilling its contents over Michael, who flared up at once, brushing frantically at himself before freezing when he realized it was only cold water.

David quickly knelt, slipping his hand into his shorts pocket while Michael slowly placed the cups back into the tray and watched him remove a ring box, which he opened to reveal a diamond ring.

"Happy Valentine's Day, baby boy," David said as their eyes locked. "I do not want you to be only my Valentine, I want you to be my husband. Marry me, Michael, let me love you and cherish you for the rest of our days."

Silence fell between them for a moment, heavy with tension.

"I cannot..." Michael began, and David's gaze dropped, disappointment flickering across his face, before Michael finished softly, "say no to you, David."

David's eyes lifted instantly, bright with relief, and he surged forward, pulling Michael into a kiss, laughter escaping against his lips as he wrapped an arm around his waist. They broke the kiss briefly, and Michael's eyes shone, a soft, trembling smile tugging at his lips as he held out his hand almost instinctively. David gently took it, sliding the ring onto his finger, and Michael's breath hitched slightly, his gaze never leaving David's, a quiet joy and disbelief passing across his face as their lips met again in a tender, steady kiss.

"Why did it take you so long?" Michael asked as David laughed softly, withdrawing slowly.

David scoffed, blinking away. "You who have been playing stubborn, hard to get," he said, turning back to meet Michael's gaze as Michael's hand traced along him, and David's eyes followed every inch, their lips collided in a desperate, heated kiss, hands exploring, bodies pressing closer. When they parted briefly, David lowered his lips to Michael's neck, moving down to his nipple, making soft, breathy sounds escape him as Michael looked down at him.

David's hand slowly trailed below Michael's abdomen, cupping his cock, fingers gentle but firm, stroking with careful attention to every small twitch and shiver. His teeth parted from Michael's nipple as he traced lower with his mouth, then lifted his head, seeing Michael's eyes half-closed, savoring the pleasure of his touch. Slowly, David guided Michael's legs together, leaving his eyes wide in surprise.

"W- what?" Michael asked, searching David's eyes in confusion.

"Go see a movie, it will help you," David said, sitting on the bed and backing Michael slightly. Michael scoffed, putting his hands on David's shoulders and pressing him to lie back on the bed, mounting him, which made David laugh.

"Someone help, this guy wanna disvirgin me," David said jokingly as Michael drew his face closer to him, both of them searching each other's eyes.

"Please don't rape me," Michael whispered playfully, laughing softly and breathily, eyes sparkling. David laughed with him, sliding his hands along Michael's sides as he gently turned him beneath him. Their gaze locked for a moment before David leaned in, pressing his lips back to Michael's in a slower, more deliberate kiss.

◈AT PA JAMES HOUSE◈

Pa James sat opposite David. "You came back. Welcome to my home," he said, turning toward the hallway.

"Honey," he called.

"Yes, sweetheart," his wife replied immediately.

"Please serve our guest," Pa James said, smiling faintly at David.

"I am fine. There is no need," David replied politely, but Pa James looked at him in dead silence.

"Bring it," David added with a small smile. "I just remembered..."

"So why have you come?" Pa James asked firmly, cutting him off. David hesitated before pulling out an invitation card from his suit and handing it to him as Pa James studied it carefully and looked up.

"I may be getting older, but I can still comprehend this," he said as his wife walked in, smiling, and placed a tray with two wine glasses and a jug of grape wine on the table. She poured the wine into the glasses and handed one to each of them.

"Thank you, ma'am," David said after taking a sip.

"Samantha," she corrected gently as silence fell between them for a moment.

"Honey, Michael is getting married," Pa James said, and Samantha's face lit up.

"Oh my goodness. That is wonderful news. I knew he would find himself a good spouse."

"Sure," Pa James added, and Samantha's eyes widened as she looked from him to David. "He's sitted right here."

Samantha looked between them, stunned.

"It seems David MacSinclair does not recognize us as clearly as we recognize him," Pa James said quietly.

"I will leave you both," Samantha said, walking away, and silence settled in the room.

"I was recently appointed to the facilities management department at the University of Toronto," Pa James continued calmly, and David's eyes widened in shock. "And yes, this is about Michael."
