Mala and Grimori completed their analysis.
While Sonavarnah was not as powerful as Haidoro, he still possessed a very close power level.
Mala and Grimori heard a bone-cracking sound.
It was coming from Sonavarnah.
In the very next moment, Sonavarnah transformed into his Dragon Beast Form.
He flapped his wings.
The impact blew Mala and Grimori away.
It was enough to flatten hillocks.
A terrifying roar.
A battle cry?
No.
It was something else entirely.
It was an invitation.
Now seems like the perfect time, were the thoughts of Sonavarnah.
He invited all the Apex monsters from the kingdom to fight him.
He was willing to end all possible threats today.
This battle cry, more specifically an alpha roar, could be heard throughout the kingdom.
People in faraway towns closed their windows.
Dragging their children back into their houses.
Closing their doors.
Dead silence.
Graaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!
Wraaaaaaaaa!!!!!
Hundreds of Mountain Dragons awakened from their sleep and started approaching the sound.
Dozens of Sky Dragons flew towards the direction of the castle.
These were supposed to be secret weapons kept by the rebels.
By dragging them into battle earlier, Sonavarnah was stomping over any chance they had of victory.
The dragons would most likely take a few minutes to reach Sonavarnah.
That would be enough time to eliminate the invaders.
Very noble thoughts.
[Sonavarnah]: I must learn about the positions of the other invaders as well. I shall take one of these invaders along with me.
Sonavarnah turned back—
Only to get punched.
The impact made Sonavarnah lose his balance for a moment.
A punch from Mala.
Narration: FOR CURIOUS ONES, THIS PUNCH COULD HAVE CRACKED THE RIBS OF PRATIK IF IT HAD LANDED ON HIM.
Sonavarnah realized that the impact that should have been released into the surroundings in the form of shock waves had instead been redirected into himself, increasing the damage dealt to the opponent.
A smart trick.
However, it hardly hurt at all.
Before Sonavarnah could eat Mala, his tail was caught by Grimori.
Grimori lifted the heavy dragon and threw him away.
[Grimori]: He seems powerful. We haven't even seen his entire arsenal, and yet I feel unsure about victory.
[Mala]: That sounds exaggerated, though. We may use the T-0 pills if things go wrong. Of course, only one of us shall use it.
Grimori gave Mala a disagreeing glance.
[Grimori]: We have to make sure we won't use it unless things reach an extreme level.
He was serious.
Quite serious.
Before they could argue any further...
The dragon landed behind them.
[Sonavarnah]: Manifestation, Speed.
[Grimori]: Range Shiftling, Speed.
[Mala]: Range Shiftling, Speed.
It felt as if the world had slowed down.
BOOM.
BOOM.
BOOOOOOM.
Millions of clashes occurred within a single second.
The entire battlefield evaporated.
If the rebels had stayed behind, they would have been obliterated along with it.
Seeing no gain, Sonavarnah deactivated his Manifestation.
Seeing him deactivate his Manifestation, Grimori and Mala also deactivated their Range Shiftlings.
They couldn't afford to waste their Dark Energy Reserves.
They were saving them for an emergency.
Sonavarnah (thinking): This is getting troublesome. I can say they have many counters against my techniques. Using more of my techniques will just end up giving them ideas against me. It feels as if they have learnt such measures after fighting a Dragon like me before.
Something struck Sonavarnah.
Obviously, they had fought Dragolings before.
Pratik had beaten Crocus.
The whole team had faced Haidoro for some time before Pratik finally finished Haidoro.
In fact, that had been the headline of Herto Company that year.
THE DEFEAT OF THE SEVENTH.
How could Sonavarnah forget it?
The bounties they carried and everything else...
It had created a lot of buzz four years ago.
[Sonavarnah]: I am done playing.
With his heavy roar, Sonavarnah summoned powerful yellow lightning from the heart of the skies.
Its effects were even visible from faraway villages.
For the natives, it seemed as if some deity had been angered.
Deity wasn't a proper term.
Devil would suit him better.
Grimori and Mala were having a hard time dodging it.
The lightning wouldn't damage them much.
However, Grimori and Mala were being cautious because they couldn't afford any mistakes.
The ground...
It trembled.
Before Mala and Grimori could realize it...
The ground tore itself apart.
The land, rocks, and everything else started flying upward slowly.
The clouds were circling around something.
Everything was being pulled towards it.
Something similar to a black hole.
It was dark and spread across a 50-mile radius.
Even Grimori and Mala were being pulled upward.
They say no one returned alive after seeing this attack of Sonavarnah.
They say this was the attack that earned Sonavarnah his title of Heavenly Dragon, because whoever faced it ended up in the heavens.
After unleashing this move, Sonavarnah flew towards the castle to reduce the rebels to dust.
The hole in the skies grew for some time before closing abruptly.
Its closure created a massive boom that could be heard from miles away.
The mass devoured by this hole surpassed billions of metric tons.
The entire battlefield was reduced to nothing but a massive crater.
With sky-tearing roars, a calamity made its way towards the castle.
The place where the final battle would be fought.
To be continued...
