This was my first novel, and honestly, I started it mostly to learn to figure out pacing, characters, and what it actually takes to finish something long-form. I made plenty of mistakes along the way, and I'm sure you noticed a few of them too. But I'm genuinely proud I saw it through to the end instead of leaving it unfinished.
To you who read this Thank you. Truly. Knowing even a handful of people followed Qinran, Beichuan, and Luoli's story all the way through means more than you'd think.
This won't be the last thing I write. I've got more stories in me, and I'm taking everything I learned here into whatever comes next.
