A faint fragrance reached Lina's nose, presumably from his perfume. Surprisingly, it wasn't unpleasant. Compared with the strong, sometimes overwhelming odors she had encountered among the burly nobles at court, his scent was rather refreshing.
Come to think of it, many of the men in this world seemed to have little understanding of personal hygiene. Lina had seen more than enough greasy hair, yellow teeth, and unpleasant breath to make her appreciate anyone who took the trouble to keep himself clean. Julian, on the other hand, appeared to have none of those problems. His hair was clean, his face was free of stubble, his breath was tolerable, and his teeth were remarkably white. Considering his handsome features and well-proportioned figure, he was practically a rare treasure among the men she had encountered.
