Princess lily pov :
The party dissolved into chaos. I scrambled to my feet, my silver crown falling and clattering on the floor. My father, the King of Candy World, pushed through the crowd. He didn't look at me with concern; he looked at Lukas with greed.
"What is the meaning of this?" my father demanded.
Rosy was sobbing on the floor, pointing a trembling finger at me. "She started it! Her husband attacked me!"
Lukas turned to my father, his voice dripping with false authority. "Your daughter is married to a servant, a nobody. But I... I am the King of Sea World now."
"You lie!" Rosy screamed, sensing her husband's betrayal. "You know Leo is alive! You're standing right in front of him!"
But nobody listened to her. Lukas was powerful, and my father wanted a powerful son-in-law. My father looked at Jack—my Jack—with utter contempt. "He has no money. He is a beggar in a stolen suit."
I stepped in front of Jack, my arms spread wide. "He is rich by heart!" I cried. "I don't care about his gold or his kingdom!"
My father's face hardened. He grabbed my arm and violently shoved me toward Lukas. "Give a divorce to this peasant and marry the King!"
Jack let out a roar of defiance and tackled Lukas. They rolled across the floor, a blur of fine silk and raw fury. As they struggled, something bright and blue tumbled out of Jack's pocket. It hit the floor with a heavy thud, glowing with an inner, rhythmic light.
The room went silent. It was a pendant shaped like a human heart, carved from a single, massive sapphire.
Suddenly, the doors of the hall burst open. A wall of water rushed in, taking the shape of an old man with a beard of foam and eyes of storm clouds. The High King. He looked at the pendant on the floor, then at Jack.
"My son's pendant," the High King whispered. "Where did you get this?"
Lukas scrambled up, smoothing his hair. "He stole it, Father! He's a servant who found it in the woods. I was just trying to recover it for you!"
The High King looked at Jack, who was panting, his memory still fractured. The old King sighed, a sound like the tide receding. "I gave this to Leo. If he gave it away... then he is truly gone to me."
Without another word, the Sea King vanished into mist. Lukas smirked. He had won. He signaled to his guards. "Take the servant to the dungeons. And take my new bride to my chambers. Lock her in. She needs to learn her place."
