Sinea stumbled back.
Her golden eyes wide. Her naked body trembling.
"What is this?" she whispered.
She had come here to find Amanda's power. To trace the dormant ability, to locate the source, to awaken it.
She had not expected this.
And then the black energy erupted.
It came from the farmhouse. From the family. From the memory that Amanda had buried, the trauma that she had hidden, the source of the power that Sinea had been searching for.
A black eye opened in the sky.
Enormous. Pupil-less. Lidless. The iris a swirling vortex of dark energy, the sclera black, the whole organ watching, seeing, staring directly at the intruder in its subconscious space.
Sinea's breath caught.
The ability. The power. It was here. And it was far, far superior to hers.
"Who are you to enter my subconscious space?"
The voice came from the eye. From the black energy. From the nightmare itself.
The ruins activated.
