Chapter 1 - money

A room so dark that one could not even see their own hands, let alone their body, stretched endlessly. A black so absolute, it felt alive.

Voices whispered from the shadows, frantic and desperate:

"Why won't you talk to me? Please… wake up! I'm begging—don't leave me! I won't be able to live without you… Where are you? Quick, run! You don't love me! Where are you going? Dead… you can't come back! I refuse to accept it!"

"Seventy… years… K… I…"

Yet, in that suffocating darkness, there was no one—except the one hearing these words.

Suddenly, the room shifted. The blackness vanished, replaced by a pure, endless white. It wasn't light—it was the color itself, transforming the space. No windows, no doors—just a white void that seemed to have no end.

The person knelt there, stunned, whispering to himself,

"Didn't I… die? Where… am I?"

The shock faded, replaced by an eerie calm. Memories washed over him, and with them, the hollow certainty that nothing of his past life could be restored. His eyes were soulless, lifeless. A living corpse.

And then… a voice, clear and gentle, echoed from the wall ahead.

"Do you believe in time travel?"

"…"

"Centuries ago, people believed that if someone's desire to change the past was strong enough, they could… go back. Not for certainty, not for control—but just once, to be with the one they loved.

A calm voice broke in, patient but firm.

"What are you trying to say? Speak clearly."

The white wall cracked. Shards fell away, and from the opening emerged a woman. Her hair was white,

shimmering like moonlight, cascading nearly to the floor. A white blindfold covered her eyes. She wore a traditional Chinese gown, exquisite yet understated. A talisman rested over her heart, and a single, perfect eye seemed hidden yet watching.

Even from afar, her beauty was mesmerizing. But to him, she seemed… ordinary

She lifted his face gently, though blindfolded, he felt her gaze pierce him.

"What I am about to ask… may be futile. You might not be able to change anything in the past. But despite that, do you dare… to go back?"

Without hesitation, he replied,

"Yes."

Morning. The sky was clear. The sun

gleamed with a joyous brilliance, birds chirping their songs as usual. An alarm clock rang beside a bed.

The man on the bed woke, drenched in sweat, haunted by a nightmare he hoped never to face again.

a woman sat lazily, yawning behind a kitsune mask. Its red eyes glowed; there was no mouth, only the gaze of the mask. Her hair was pitch black, and her kimono blended white and red in a traditional yet modern style.

A second woman stood before her, half-shrouded in darkness. Slowly, she stepped into the light, revealing a stunning visage: black wolf-cut hair, heterochromatic eyes—one black, one greyish-white—and a faint beauty mark above her nose. Bandages wrapped her chest, a small patch on her neck, and she wore a long brown coat over a white shirt adorned with old-fashioned buttons.

The masked woman spoke.

"I have a favor for you. Will you accept it?"

The black-haired woman approached and sat before her. Her gaze met the masked woman's as she asked,

"…May I hear the favor?"

The masked woman's voice was calm, measured.

"A virus has emerged, turning humans into monsters—magicians and ordinary people alike. Most of the country is lost. The outside world will only provide supplies via helicopter. The government sought a cure, but every scientist attempting it has been assassinated by an unknown mastermind. They want you to help."

The black-haired woman interrupted, smirking.

"Help? Me? Did they lose their minds? Didn't they send some detectives just a few days ago to catch me? What makes them think I'll cooperate now?"

The masked woman's tone remained patient.

"Darling, what did you expect? Do you expect the law to treat you like royalty when you act like a thief?"

The black-haired woman chuckled.

"And said by the women who dances with the government's orders?"

The masked woman ignored her and continued,

"They are offering a substantial reward if you help—fifty billion."

The black-haired woman's lips curved into a smirk.

"Who do I have to protect?"

The masked women smiled and said "money talks..ha ha"

The wolf cut women smirked again and said

"The leader of the assassins… is one of the government officials."

Her eyes widened.

"How did you know?"

"I simply looked around," she said lightly. "When I heard about the assassins, I thought… why not join? But now, I'm getting paid for this messy work, so I'll leave the fun for later."

She blew a flying kiss and strode away

The masked women sitting on her chair thought "I'm glad we are the one who got her first if our two headache worked together we might end up destroyed even before we start something"

The wolf cut women was walking through the empty Street.it was nearly the time to sunrise.

headphones in, a smile playing on her lips as music filled her ears. The song on her phone read:

 Desire by an unknown artist.

The sun rose higher, it looked so beautiful. hard to look away it looked so peaceful.
